Keep up the good work.
Actually those chrome ones are for a BBC in a 55-57 Chevy Car. But they fit the truck frames really nice and mine has a Camaro clip on the front. The passenger side bolts right on but the driver side is a misfit on the front tube.

Im going to be selling this chrome set because I dont want to cut up the chrome finish. They are made by Sanderson and Im asking $250 for the set.

let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

Re: 1956 Chevy Pro-Street Build

Havent been on the old inter-web in a while but have had a few changes going on in life and the truck..... My oldest daughter (I have 3 of them) gave birth to our 3rd GRAND BABY! A boy named LUCAS!!! so we welcomed him into this world September 19th and he is a gem! We feel very blessed.

And the truck - well Ive been fighting the front of the engine 'blues' trying to get everything to fit around that BIG OLE AIR SUCKER!!!! finding a power steering pump mostly to fit and the lines. Have tried 2 different ones now and now changing to a KRC circle track race car pump. Its tiny but pumps like crazy. And the inlet and outlet are in the right places too. So once this is in I will be able to get some lines done and get all this completed.

So the mount is on the block and the new pump is on its way. Crossed fingers that this is the one that will work!

congrats on the grandbeeperfish! I have 3 daughters too, my brother in law said famously that "boys take risks, if you can keep them alive till about 12 then there is a good chance they will be fine after that. girls are easier in the beginning, but at 12 your problems have just started" haha

Re: 1956 Chevy Pro-Street Build

Thanks Guys so much! -- Yes feel very Blessed / Son has grandson #1 - 3yrs old now, Oldest Daughter has 2 grandkids; 2yr old grandaughter, and now our brand new grandson #2.

Daughters 2 and 3 are still working on finding somebody Dad doesnt chase away with a salt gun!..... no hurry!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok so I got the radiator all mocked up into place with the stock support.... albeit HIGHLY CUSTOMIZED to fit the cross flow radiator from a Chevelle. It is the biggest one that will fit between the bottom dimension. Its a Champion radiator, has trans cooling and inlet and outlet of 1.5" dia.

I made a saddle bottom mount using some Uni-Strut and some 1/2" angle iron to 'saddle' around the bottom flange of the radiator. That mount goes across the whole bottom and holds the radiator just above the main support mounting bolt heads after its bolted in.

I also made the top holding pieces out of 16 GA sheet metal and just bent it around the top flange of the radiator. They are sheetmetal screwed into the main support with flat top heads. Then I made my own radiator top cover to completely cover the whole top, across the latch mount piece and the radiator altogether. All these parts will be painted same color as frame. The radiator will stay polished alum.

The P/S pump is in and the reserviour is on the next to the radiator, and I got all the trans lines made up too.... busy weekend!!!

Re: 1956 Chevy Pro-Street Build

Heres some other stuff Ive been working on too... electrical panel for fuse box, CDI, Harness mount. this goes under the dash left of column. Also got the P/S pump installed.... fits perfect!

Got the dash and the bottom skirt all welded in tight with the wraps on the ends fitted in. The new trans tunnel is done. Just need to tackle that firewall again.

Next is blow it all apart for the last time and sand and prep the frame for paint.... FINAL ASSEMBLY is in SIGHT!!!!

Re: 1956 Chevy Pro-Street Build

Thanks guys for checking in....

Thanks Kim - you are the master of metal works... Mine looks ok from 20 feet! lol still more finishing to do on the metal work.

2 Slow - My Cam builder actually got me involved with them, really nice stuff, and made in 'Merica!!! It came as an entire kit with the CDI, Coil, Harness, mounts, tuning guide with USB port, and a book of instructions! I have never had any problems with MSD on my boat but for the money I got alot more with Daytona. Im using a MSD Pro Billet Disty with it.

AD - Thank you, and yes we love them like crazy... I want them to grow up fast so we can do more.... but then again I like them as babies too, there just so darn cute!!!!

That frame looks outstanding! What color paint is that? I like the contrast with the black suspension components.

Keep up the good work.
