That being said....(last comment on this from me )...I still think matching the frame accent metallic color would be one of those subtle custom touches that is still clean but isn't too over the top

I just can't see the gold carpet either man (that bothers me a lot more than the trim)....the colors of the truck are "cooler" hues and gold is always warm...so you're clashing on that (just being honest)

I'm sure the leather will look great with the blue because browns and blue compliment....and the gold accents will look fine against the leather...but your color blue and the gold just don't go together...

The reason the gold looks so good on the other truck is the brown and creamier lower trim...they are both warm hues...plus of course the rims are the same color...

you're taking billet and polished trim (cool again) and putting warm gold against it...

Like I said...it may end up catching someone's eye with the gold....but it also might put off someone enough to take your truck out of running for a cover and I would HATE for a little gold to be what keeps you from realizing your dream on this truck....

I think with your stance, quality work, custom touches, one of a kind 6 lug rims () and tubz/engine panels (and the story behind it (9yrs and grandpa involved)) will make it a show winner and magazine truck...

...the problem is if you add the gold it might be in lowrider instead of on the cover of custom classics or similar....

j/k on the last part...or am I....
I agree with VA72C10. I am a homebuilder and deal with a lot of decorators who all have schooled me on color schemes and what works and what doesn't and why. As a cabinet sales man/ supplier I'm sure he has the same background and thoughts as I do. The gold is a warm earthtone and goes well with most stuff - other than blues - greys- blacks. Your blue grey color and bright white (not creme) will be pretty jarring with gold added in the mix, but most folks won't really be able to put a finger on it. but when you open the door the carpet will be tough to swallow. The small gold stripe or emblem will be ok- mainly because there is so little of the gold that it won't distract, and most will think that the emblems came gold and there was nothing you could do about it. Even though it is not a house, ask a professional decorator about which colors go well with others.
I hope we both make some magazines!!!

ME TOO !! who knows ....i might hate it when i get a chance to put it together and look at it ! It is just all in my head at the moment, as soon as my uholsterer gets the seats done i will look at the carpet/color samples ( its not even really carpet, i dont know how to explain it ?)

Great progress, looks like alot of controversy...your vision has been sound so far. Perhaps a pinstriper and gold leaf would give you the color effect your looking for. Good luck with your dead line can't weight to see the finished product.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I to have been quite...I would also wait to see the difference between the black and gold once the truck is put back together with the completed interior. I like the gold but I really can not judge it fully just yet. I do not like how much the red stands out on the emblem so it will need some other color. The gold carpet has got me worried a little also. But I am still here to support you in what ever you decide. You have put a lot of thought into this build so far, I am not going to make my finally decision just yet.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Thank you everyone for all of the different , ideas , input, consideration ! Like I said before anything can be changed at any point when we are talking about stripes , carpet , seat upholstery I consider all of those to be pretty small aspects of the big picture ! Everything about my build has been trial and error so if I mess up and hate it I can redo it fairly easy , all of the big aspects of the build are right sheer I want them as in paint, wheels, engine compartment ....those are the things that are to big to change, all of this little stuff I can change if I get it together and don't like it ! Thank all of you for your support !

I still like it. I think it works well. Compliments your body color well. Black would clash and look stock, which is fine, but this truck is far from it. My wife gives her stamp of approval, too, and she doesn't even like gold. Matter of fact, she would be straight up offended if I brought home gold jewelry

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i think it would be better to keep the colour of the carpet near the bottom (white / cream) colour of the truck maibe go a little more towarth beige , that will fit the leather as whell but you better take of youre shoes before stepping intoo it
you can allso do part of the doorcards in that colour to draw the seperation line between both colours on the outside intoo the inside of the truck as whell but with a finer crome or brass strip in between
you could make the trimming(we call it banderen in the netherlands ) of the carpets in goldish tubing

Wow that blue looks great! I miss a few days and get 10 pages behind, is grandpa wearing a slosh tubz hat

What is that color from again? toyota or nissan? I haven't figured it out yet.

I like the gold accent but I'm unsure... trim accent looks great on the brown truck but I dont know. maybe, on yours?. I think the bowtie looks better gold than red for sure.

sell the Tahoe Mike, sell sell sell !

Beautiful work, I love the color. 12 years you must be giddy at this point. Can't wait to see it complete, going to be fun this August and beyond.
What was the story on the clips and the small holes?
