Had some ball joint issues, but they are gone now. Installing crossover steering as soon as I get it buttoned up. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
New plugs, cap, rotor, NGK wires, air filter... and its still missing and hesitating under load... hmm.. maybe fuel filters next. Gotta buy a timing light too i guess.
Took my old door panels off and threw them in the trash. New ones coming from LMC. Lubed up all the door lock linkages and the window regulator. Things are much smoother now. |

Installed my cpp c notch kit was pretty easy but a complete pain in the (_|_).
And yes the frame is up side down made it much easier to install. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
bought some more gauges and a shim kit to fix my pinion angle. was to pick up my new d-shaft...but somebody shut my door that I left open (for a reason) and I overslept to pick it up! the family has been avoiding me all night!
I bought new 5" electric speedo and 5" 8k rpm tach. I'm most anxious about this gauge....a 3 3/8" dual gauge (not into the quads) for fuel level and oil pressure... along with the matching 2 1/16" voltage and water temp gauges takes care of the usual 6 in 5 holes, but also have a trans temp gauge and been thinking of getting fuel pressure to finish out the 7 holes...or will put an O2 gauge I had in when it was carb'd.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Replaced a leaking heater core, installed new hood hinges, adjusted my dash tach(was off by 1000 rpm) , dug out the old seam sealer in the gutters, cleaned the rest out with a wire wheel on a air powered die grinder( worked perfect) primed & resealed the gutters. Replaced the power steering remote 3/4 hose. Went over the truck with CLR & a Scotch brite pad ( surface rust areas) washed the rest. Now wait for tomorrow & do some more. Gotta love theese trucks! 71 C20 468 long bed

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed my new radio and speakers. The radio has the wrong "badge" (GMC instead of Chevrolet) on it's face but I don't care. The radio will control a CD changer, play MP3's from a flash drive and an ipod.

Nice job. You have info on the set-up for the electronics. Seems I remember a thread....Hummmmm..... They ever say "CHEVROLET"? I think my face-plate says "GM". I'm still trying to figure out where to put speakers. I have a "dummy" stock radio in there now. But I have a good (working stocker) one ready for a "fix". I pulled out the top speaker for about a hundred reasons. Mostly, my stupidity for jacking with all the mounts back there. Now, the hole is filled up with carbon-fiber sheeting. I'd really like to go back behind the buckets on either side of the gas tank (Yeah, it's still in the cab). Oooooh! I see you did that. Nice.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I changed the carb and finally got to drive down the road and actually feel a little power. It goes tomorrow to a buddies shop to put on a set of double hump heads and work on the carb linkage.(it hung up on the way back to the house) Maybe a '71-'72 conversion on the pedal.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I finally got around to installing my new dash pad. I'm glad I have relatively small hands.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Brought it to it's first car show...umm...mostly done!
People were clamoring over it! Many questions regarding Nate's handiwork. Didn't get the inside of the fenders cut yet, so it was still 2 inches off the ground. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
The bed's not on it. We have to cut the bedsides (same story as front) and get a 2 piece driveshaft made. Soon...(famous last words)
Unfortunately when we went to put the Porterbuilt hood hinges on we found some rust on the cowl right where the one hinge would go, probably wouldn't support the hood on the driver's side, so--since I'm only running 18's--we're going to try the stock hinges and cut away the inner portion of the fender AND the bottom of the hinge and see if it will lay out. The tire diameter is small enough that the heater box won't rub unless it's fully aired out, so the hinge thing may work. Otherwise it's sheetmetal repair time--which I wanted to hold off on for a bit. I can't weld, and I'm running out of money! |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
At least it's not a photoshop of the drop this time. It's for real! Although, technically, I did blur the background in photoshop because it looked cooler, and those two blurred ladies were a bit hard on the eyes.
