Working on coats 3 & 4 of primer on the drop spindles for the 67... It has taken about a week with the remodeling of my house going on simultaneously! LOL everytime I have to run out to the workshop for a tool I spray them a coat! LOL but at least I am accomplishing something... First coat of paint should be tonight!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

A while back I took my back window out because paint was peeling back at a spot over the weatherstrip and surface rust started. I'm glad I took it out because water had been getting behind the old original gasket and the top & bottom was rusty and pitting. I stripped it all clean, put a rust treatment on that turns even pitted metal clean again,etch-primed,smoothed it over (all behind where the gasket covers),sealer primed, and painted it. I just got the gasket from Bil Athey and yesterday put a different slider in with a good latch and good weather seal on the sliding glass (no rattles).
I also replaced the HEI cap & rotor and put new plug wires on. The truck has been sitting since I changed out the interior back in spring. It now has a saddle interior w/new carpet, dash pad,arm rests on mint door panels, saddle tilt column,a/c vents, defrost vents,a chromed glovebox door w/woodgrain,and a tach dash w/re-plated bezel. If I knew I was doing the back window back then I would have painted the interior. When I restore the truck it will get a color change, though,so good enough for now. Now I need to put the saddle Olds 4-spoke sport wheel on.
Next,I am finally going to put the 6" lift on with 12.50/37 SSRs mounted on white powdercoated 8.25" steelies.

Thank you, yes in the L6 position with the four on the floor for now. Eventually will do the 700r4 conversion but one thing at a time.

Cool. Got a M-20 Munice 4 speed in mine. Any issues with the headers and clutch linkage?

It sounds busier than I've been...on the truck. That poor thing sat with a tarp over it for a month or two. I did forget to mention my friend just bought an all original Dark Blue w/white top '72 Cheyenne Super/20 Custom Camper with a wood floor that needs replaced. Last week we got some yellow pine that I made up into bed wood stock. Yesterday I was at his house (where we put the rear window in my truck) and I belt sanded the wood, then stained it using thinned out matching paint. We're not painting anything and re-using the bed strips,so we wanted it to look like old paint on the wood. He's cleaning up the frame and axles, etc under the bed (we removed that) and painting that. Then,it can go back together. I can't wait to see how the wood looks (and if it fits :lol)

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Since the head was already removed, it didn't take long to get the engine ready for removal. Good Bye 250...Hello 350!!! Thanks to Tim at the "Buford Street Garage" !!! He's the man helping make this dream become a reality! Tomorrow we are taking a trip to the car wash for an engine compartment clean up. Picking up the 350 Sunday. I hope to be driving it soon!!! It's only been about 25 years ago that I last went for a spin in "Blue Baby" !!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Pulled the axles out of the rear , only to discover i might need new ones

Pics here - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=536374

By the sounds of the board on h052/72, i might be cheaper finding a new rear end to bolt in. 3:55's do sound better than having 4:10's everyday.

Guess that will put a hold on re building the wheel cylinders and replacing shoes.
