Anyone think there is anywhere to get the dual square headlight conversion anymore?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Well I have to admit that a lot of the work got done here at my garage. If you know these years you know that 75s were when they were using cheap recycled metal. And yes this truck was BAD shape when we got it.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Ive never really been a fan of lowered trucks but I do have to admit that that does look very nice, you brought it all together really well. Also that steering wheel doesn't look half bad in there. Nice work man!

jeffrey5355 - Great looking ride. I dig the D upgrade with a stick. I regret selling my crew now that I've seen yours. Again - great job on the conversion & lowering job.

Me either but they finally start to grow on ya. I used to not like them at all. Keep looking at them in all the pics on here. One day you'll realize you like 'em too.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Well, been lurking for a few months but figured since I finally have my first crew legal I need to sign up and intro.
A few guys may recognize me from a few Offroad sites. I recently purchased a 1988 v30 crew cab dually that was converted to a carbed big block. I've always been a big fan of these trucks but have never owned one. I'm having a lot of conflict with what I want to do with it though. I'd really like to make it a crew short SRW truck. I have two axles ready to go in, lockers gears crossover steering and all. Thinking about a small 4" lift and some military style 37's on the h1 wheels I have. part of me says leave it dually... Would like to hear yalls thoughts. Here's the rig... Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by greatwhite; 11-29-2012 at 02:48 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Welcome to the board and nice crew!
Depends on what you'd use it for I guess. Sounds like you've got a good stash of parts to build a wheeler, so I'd lean that way. You'll have to start a build thread and more people will chime in!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Trucks with hips are just cool, I would leave it. All squares are beautiful but a half hour drive and one can spot several in as many different conditions.
But..............a crew cab with duals, now that is something that is harder to run into. But then again, I am heavily biased

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
I would keep it a dually, they're just so much harder to find especially a crew cab 4x4. Just find you some 16.5 dually wheels to fit the 37" hummer tires then put the 4" lift on it and trim the front fenders to fit like johnnypop's trucks. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...2&postcount=24
I may be a little biased as well... since that's what I'm gonna do with my truck.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs
Finally joined the club. Been looking for a long time and I have found a lot of good information on this forum. This is my crew. It is a 2wd converted to 4wd. Has 3/4 ton axles so the plan is to find 1 ton drivetrain and a duramax. Also looking for a good bed. The truck use to have a flat bed but the cooler would never stay put.

I appreciate yalls input, whatever I do, ill be sure to start a thread. I want this thing simple, functional and still have some clean practicality to it. Thing about SRW is i can always take it back to DRW down the road if I wanted to as long as i keep the bed and D70HD. |
