I have an extra charcoal canister off my 72 if you are in need of one. It is located underneath the passenger side battery tray.

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"

Post Re : Charcoal Cannister

Well ;

It's part of the SMOG equipments so maybe ~ some states still want it there .

If it's in good shape , and properly connected (takes at least three different hoses) it doesn't make the truck run badly atall .

I found the full A.I.R. pump , branch manifold & gulp valve for my '69's L6 and have been seriously considering installing it just because ...........

FWIW , A.I.R. pumps are bad for your exhaust valves but they're also dead simple to make look fine yet not harm anything .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Took one side of the 327 heads off to see if I need to hot tank them or just rebuild the engine. Of course as I was using my breaker bar to loosen the head bolts, I turn to far and slammed my finger into the 50lb intake manifold I have sitting near the engine. Dang it smarts to heck!! LOL

no. if you had it there will be a bracket on the core or you'll be able to see where it was(provided it hasn't been repainted)..i not sure what years it's on or if it was state to state. i normally only see them on the 72s only or truck that have had the tank moved out of the cab. i have seen a couple of 71s from cali, but it's either been removed on the years i've dealt with or wasn't there from factory.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Went and visited her in paint prison. They should be shooting some primer on her in the next week or so. Body panels and floor repairs look good. shop took her down to base metal to start from there. Only a few more months to go!

Can you post some more photos. You and I have very similar taste.
Mostly interested in your wheels. In process of moving from 20inch flat black wheels to 15 inch classic rally's I plan to blast and paint.

Stopped at MAR-K in Oklahoma City and bought all new mouldings for the 72. They are beautiful. I can't wait to get home and install them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I filled my gas tank for the first time, by the time I got back in my truck gas was running out of my sending unit. I pulled it out today and silver soldered it to stop the leak. Now I just have to get the gas smell out of the cab.

I tightened the bolts that hold the steering rack to the frame.
A little bit every day, had the wheels off for over a month now. Maybe by September it will be rolling again.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

My 67 chevy c10 lwb has been a long 2 year project. So far we installed a 250/th350. 250 got new freeze plugs, intake&exaust gaskets, starter, flywheel, oilpan&valve cover gaskets, new oil line to Original gauges,Water temp to Origianl gauges, Th350 was rebuilt, 4 core radiator, 15x6 steelies, 69-70 automatic steering column/Cpp Linkage but kept my original 67 steering wheel on. We have the Original electrical but just patched up some wires. Next is hopefully a new Ignition coil and then I can move onto the brake work. Gonna keep that all drums for now. Someday disc brake up front.

That's fixable yes but since the cylinder has obviously been full of water for years , methinks it's time to simply get another engine core , they're cheap and plentiful here in La La Land (home to fruits , nuts & flakes) you'll prolly have to bore it to .030" before the rust pits are gone , not a good thing living here in The Desert .

Just to - day I went to Pick-A-Part on Blinn West of PCH in Long Beach and discovered SIX '67 ~ '72 C/10's & C/20's , several Customs , several rust free cabs , many dent & rust free fenders , inner fenders , core supports and so on..... all Long Bed Fleet Sides sadly .

I considered the 1970 C/20 cab for my '69 as it's rust free and has A/C....

I got a nice set of original green factory seat belts , mine are badly frayed and sun bleached to the point of me worrying if they're safe , now I'll be golden once I wash these out , dry and install them .

ALL these are V-8 rigs , PS , PB , AC etc. - it's all there .
