I slowed just a tad and tried to see what was going on, and a flash out of the corner of my eye something was falling, came from the left side of my vision to right at the front of my truck.

It was a bald eagle that swooped down and grabbed the squirrel off the road and flew off. I came so close to hitting the darn thing, luckily his timing was perfect.

Wish I had a dash cam. We have a ton of bald eagles in our area so not uncommon to see, but you dont get to see em in action that close too often.
They are danged big up close too. Last year a rabbit got hit in front of our house. A crow was trying to pick it up and fly away, but it was too heavy and an Eagle came and claimed it. He/she was tearing it apart on the road but was not happy with the cars, so brought it into our yard, 30 ft from the house to devour most of it. Crows got to claim the scraps.. LOL

Cool pic!
As for me, I gimped into the doctor and got a cortisone shot in my right knee. Boy howdy, did that hurt! I hope that it's worth it. I have a ton of things to do that don't involve leaning on a cane.

Did you sell the truck and camper, or just the camper?

Sorry to hear about the knee being bad ..so far I have been lucky I guess ,,only had a elbow needing a shot of that stuff.. and I remember how it felt when that needle hit a home run in me .To Bad you had to break up a set like that ..but as we all know ,,we must move on.. are you thinking of a shorter topper or a tonneau cover ,,or? Nice rig by the way,,

Sold my Blue Blazer. I have owned it for at least 22 years. But now I've got some coin to spend on the new one.

I drove to Wisconsin and returned to Indiana with a new to me Chevrolet. A 2004 Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition. 405HP, 6 speed manual, 4780 miles. I know there are faster corvettes, but this feels like a rocket to me!

Very Nice! Very low miles C5/Z06 good score! Welcome to the club! And you are correct these are "Rocket Ships" especially 3rd gear. Ours is a 2002.....and you got the correct color Electron Blue!

Other than a "Skip Shift" and chrome wheels 100% stock.

After cleaning it, I emptied two cans of mink oil onto this tool belt that I picked up in a lot at auction this Saturday. Good to go for a long while yet.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Was over a friend's house last year and he had a wood chipper rotting away in his yard, so I decided to see if I could get it to work.
It had compression and spark but the carburetor was a piece of rusted out junk so I convinced him to buy a new carb.
Got it running and he basically dumped the cluch (engaged the belt) and smoke came out and the belt burned up.
Turned out the kids had dumped rocks in the chute and now he needed a belt replacement.
That was last year and he got a new belt so I watched a YouTube video and the guy spoke so slowly and was so boring I dang near fell asleep. Decided to try to fix it yesterday without instructions and after removing 4 bolts the motor fell off...oops.
Anyway that turned out OK because the motor had a pulley wheel and I managed to get the belt around it and reinstall the motor and now the chipper works great!

This old Buffalo has been seized up for years and has been yard art. I felt sorry for it. Lots of PB and diesel and emery cloth. Cleaned up the threads. Nice and smooth, spins freely. I like old stuff.

Is it water pump or a wind maker for a forge? It's interesting for sure. Nice job cleaning it up and I guess making it functial .

Blower for a forge or? I don't do blacksmithing, but may run it and let it blow air on me while sitting in the backyard.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Well I tried in vain to replace this steering cover in my 72 Bug today. Someone in the past broke into the car and scalped this one I assume to break the locking column. All they did was make a mess.(F-ing thieves) So I got it all out except a C clamp, not the big one that you can see, that was easy, no this is a little one right by the shaft and it has no holes at the end like the bigger one does. I can't get a grip on it or pry it out. It is a persnickety little devil. I was successful in smacking my knuckles about a half dozen times trying to pound it out. Oh well try again tomorrow.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Tore into our Maytag dryer to exorcise an intermittent screech that has been driving us crazy. The culprit seemed to be the little plastic idler pulley that maintains pressure on the drum's drive belt. It was all gummed up and hard to spin by hand. Cleaned up its steel bushing and the shaft it rides on and smeared on a bit of lithium grease. Also did the same for the four drum rollers while I was in there. Fingers crossed.

Mike I feel for ya. Been there a couple of times. Our current dryer rumbles and bumps like a set of old bias ply tires until it gets warmed up.

7 loads of locust yesterday it was a load and dump and repeat . But by the end had to buck and move wood for the next load . Ran out of room still have three or four more loads to get but with it raining it’ll have to wait . Nice I didn’t have to touch the wood till I unloaded

Well, it was worth a try. The dryer ran nice & quiet for a few times, but the screech is back, worse than ever. Gonna get a Maytag kit with new drum rollers, idler wheel, and belt.
That should do the trick. If not, looks like it's time for a new dryer.

New dryers suck, why they need a mother board is beyond me...
