That's a good one.

I've got it on the lift doing a nut and bolt check. It has developed a thunking noise when turning while parking. Something feels like it is shifting.

Heck everything has a price. You can buy truck, lift and house.

So far the only things that were a tad loose was the trans mount bolts. I got about 1/2 a round on them. The other thing was the left upper A arm rear stud that holds the shims was 1/2-1 round loose. The only shim I had in there is still there. That might be what I was feeling. Since its up in the air why not wipe the frame down.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

I have a question about the sealing of the manifold to the back of the ac compressor. It's a 89 S10 comp it came with thick seals. The after market manifold came with thin gaskets. The inside nipple of the manifold is too short to use the thick gaskets. I tried charging the ac and have a bad leak in this area. I tried soapy water and couldn't locate it. I'm inspecting things to make sure things are right. I have a feeling it's coming from the fittings where they screw onto the manifold. I've tried new o rings with no change.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

I think the manifold is hitting the comp before the seals seal.

Now do I try to use the thick seals and see if it works.....why not.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

I shaved the raised area on the compressor that was hitting the fitting. If this doesn't work I have no idea.

That is so weird. Did it ever hold pressure or just when you first charged it?

It never held a vacuum. I plan on driving it to work tomorrow and see if work.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

Alan, I spent the last several weeks reading your build (from page one). It was an awesome read. I love what you did with the truck. That dash rocks!

Thanks for sharing your life and your build with us.

One question, will you paint the steering wheel or will it stay black?

Richard, thanks for taking the time to read my build. It has been a long journey. I do plan on painting the steering wheel a combination of orange and silver.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10

My first attempt at a sign board for car shows. It's nothing fancy. I did it in Word and saved to PDF for the printer to print on a big board. It's not what I had in mind but close.

Looks pretty good to me! Lord knows you'd need to circle the whole truck with them if you wanted to include ALL the details.

Did everything look okay after the Friday cruise-in?
