Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

We went to dinner at a Japanese steak house for our 44th Wedding Anniversary and then went to my 12 year old granddaughters first volley ball game.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

My shop is in full sun and it gets too danged hot in there to work. I bought a mini split last fall and finally got it installed. This sure ain't nothing like throwing a window unit in... IF I had been thinking ahead 3 years ago, when I finished the interior, I should have framed in for a couple of those. Anyway, this puts out 19k btu of cool and it drops the temp in there rather quickly.

Yes, congrats on the 44 years. Not a lot of people stay together that long anymore.

Scary to think if I was still with the first one, it would be coming up on 52...damn, that makes me feel old. I like the 32 with the "right one" better.

Thanks guys. We just got back from a week long trip and turned in our rental Jeep today. We went to Mesa Verde and Four Corners where we bought new Navajo made Bands to replace the rings we can't wear anymore. We drove over 1100 miles and got an average of 34 miles per gallon.

I went to a pretty large car show yesterday. Took my 12 year old grandson. Tons of cars, lots of sun, and I didnt take a single picture. Oh and you guys will love this, his favorite car, a weird three wheeled single seat electric car. I told him I was going to hang my head in shame haha!

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

That car is kinda cool, so no not that one. Its this one, but a weird peachy color. I was thinking about it though, maybe he gets it from me. I really dislike this one, but I really like all the funky show rods from the 60's and early 70's. Boothill express, Monkey Mobile. Plus the car I bomb around in the most is a Fiat 500 convertible. Ok maybe Im being hard on the kiddo LMAO!

Which show did you guys go to?

I've noticed that some kids gravitate more to what they can relate to. At 12, he might not be able to picture himself driving around in a full size truck, but that little car might look like fun to a 12 year old.

I used to take my Trans Am to shows and I would wonder why the younger kids would come along the side and look in the back window. I finally figured out that they were seeing if there was room for them in there, i.e. a back seat - "Dad, we could get one of these!"

Not sure what the show was called. It was downtown Arlington with around 7 blocks and some side streets packed with cars.

Most kids (not all) have a different view on cars and trucks than way back when I was their age. Much different time today.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Started the oil pan replacement on my Tacoma . We will see how the might as well while it’s apart goes . A nice lift kit would be nice I am definitely replacing the front axles and hubs since I need to remove the axles anyway to drop the front differential. It just about ready to come out but it got too hot to keep working . Guess I should replace the serpentine belt

Hmm. So, does it have a timing belt or chain?

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

So today we spent an hour walking around the MN state high school semi finals trap shoot.
It's held in Alexandria MN at the Shooting Sports park. I'm guessing today there was kids and family 5000 plus people. During the meet there will be 8000 plus kids trying to make the state finals next week.
Hundreds of shot guns sitting around. No one hurt.

Cool day of shooting sports! Those are the kids that were brought up respecting guns, and for the most part, their elders. It makes a difference! I never had trouble on a range with Scouts, except for a couple who thought they were ace marksman and shot too fast. :eyeroll:

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Found my tick in the Chevelle was driving me crazy this morning decided to do them old school and run the engine . Took the cover off put the half cover on and it wasn’t ticking on that side but the passenger side was . I investigated further and found the valve train is making contact with the cover . Doubled up the gaskets and it’s all good now . I could have used a die grinder and shaved it these are thick aluminum units but the gaskets were easier. Both sides had three touching

It doesn't take much contact to make it sound like big problems.
