Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i worked at a place simuliar to ups when the stuff send out gets distributed amongst the vans the boxes roll down on rollerbeds
when the boxes have bumps on them (like when there packed too full or are heavy) they realy take a beating on those rollers

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

A little lesson on UPS....supposedly delivered my package around Chrismas to my house..never saw it..filed claim....they say they paid it..but they only pay sender even if I filed claim...sender won't answer emails..too late to file claim with ebay by the time I found they had paid...worst part is now UPS wont deliver anything to my house without signature..they put the missing item at my garage door which is against there own policy (porch or back door out of sight) so I'm forced because of work schedule to send ups package somewhere else..pain in azz......jim

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

UPS found my lost parts !! and now back to progress pictures, i wasnt happy with just a hole where my radiator cap was so i took a piece of 3 inch exhaust pipe and welded it in , next i filled the bottom of my breather on the outside of the element full of holes to help it breathe a little more, Gary at Street Driven Customs got my transmission painted up nice ! and re-painted the top of my motor around the intake, and had all of my panels and misc parts ready to paint !

Make sure you put a fuel pressure test port into the supply line to the throttle body when you plumb the fuel system. Nothing there from the factory and it is a real pain to tune and troubleshoot.

Factory regulators are all over the map from 9 psi to 13 psi typically but they run the best with it on the high end. It also makes up for too much duty cycle with the ECM trying to compensate for the low fuel pressure. My 90 Z/71 was at 9 psi stock and couldn't keep up with demand after I put on headers, good exhaust and an upgraded air intake. I adjusted the regulator to bring it up to 15 psi and it gained back a bunch of missing power it lost before when it hit 100% duty cycle and went lean at only 3500 rpm.

This is the basics but no pics

This page shows much of it and gives part numbers for the gasket kits.

Here are some other things to do to it while you have it apart

Hey Cheby, I'm up to speed on your build again. your thread moves so fast, and I'm watching several cool builds. I need to check in more often. Engine looks better with the repaint. trans looks great too. Glad to here UPS found your parts. I love the bed wood choice. keep up the outstanding work, and send some of your fab skill my way!
