Ha! That's hilarious. Is that the ultra rare "Fawn" color material you used for the repair? Ha, ha.

Was going to have black on the grill wrapped in vinyl but it wouldn't stick so had to paint it. Got more of the frontend put together. Getting closer.

I tell ya for not having a shop or place to work on your truck, you're creating a great looking truck on a good budget. Good on ya.

Thanks I appreciate that. I'm making due. I moved from GA having a my house with a 2 car garage to Los Angeles in a 1 bedroom apartment paying 4 x my mortgage. Most of my work has been in the dark parking garage of the apartment or a empty parking lot across the street on the weekends. Don't tell anyone or they may kick me outta both . Body work and block sanding is a killer without air for my tools. I'm a claims adjuster and do have connections to some shops to use their facilities when I'm not working on Saturday's. But 75% has been my desire to get some stuff done on the weekends at my apartment. It has been a fun journey.
Here is a before and in process. It was shortened already with new bedsides, but I did suspension and bodywork.

I woke up my truck from a years slumber and moved it from storage to the side of my yard that I can actually drive out of. The brakes need attention but with fresh gas it fires up on the first turn of the key. I am about to do a 14 bolt swap and hydroboost brake swap. Glad to allocate some time to my old girl. Amazing how good she looks in pictures.

Yeah,the Cutlass is going back to my oldest son. I pulled out my 327 and th350 to put in the truck last year. He is going to do an LS engine in it.Here it is when we took it and the camper to Arkansas. I got a lot of thumbs up with that.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I got these items done Wednesday night before Thanksgiving;

New turn signal switch - I now have brake lights, turn signals, easier horn operation, etc...

New ignition cylinder & new door lock cylinders all to one key - I don't think my grandpa ever locked the truck - so there was no round key, got all locks working smoothly and the ignition key doesn't come out in just any position.

got the glove box button replaced - had to drill out the old one - replaced everything, now works like a charm!

Great looking color. 3 months in the shop, is that typical? Are shops working on these old trucks as time permits? In other words, doing the higher paying collision repairs is a higher priority?
