Re: Project Vitamin C-10
Loved the Video, and your truck looks great. I didn't even recognize you with that long beard. I had a full beard for a long time right after I got married, and after we had our first kid. When I shaved it off, my son cried. I scared him because he didn't know who I was. When a new guy started work at a dealer I worked for, they put him next to me in a open stall. After the guy got to know me, he said to me that he was afraid of me, because I looked bad a$$. My hair was also pretty long.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
I've read your entire thread over the years of the build and it gives me something to shoot for...although your truck is a prime example of what years of experience will do for you. I'm just starting to cut into the rust repairs on my truck, and I don't think you had to replace the footwells on yours, but was wondering if you could give some advice/tips on what to expect when working with them? Or, if you or someone can give me a link to follow that breaks that repair down for me? Thanks in advance! Also, thanks for posting in your build thread, even after your truck is "done."

Back when I was doing the kick panels on mine there wasn't any patch panels for these trucks kick panels. I took a 67-72 panel and modified it. I really need some pics of your truck to see where your at. I looked for a build thread on yours but didn't see it. My advice right now would to be sure the doors close good now with good gaps. Brace the cab 3 ways length width and height. Braceing really depends on how deep your going. More than likely when you cutting a foot well out the the A post will be separated from the floor. Make the bracing so the doors will close. I have plenty of pics of the bracing in my truck. Cut the rusty panels off one by one. Other than the outer rocker save all you cut out for patterns on your patch panels and label them. Screw or tack new panels in place as you rebuild so you can make sure everything is where it should be. If not it's pretty easy to undo them. Once things are in place and the door opens and closes with the seal on (taped in place) then it can be finished welding together. Plus lots of patience. I've got some pics in my build of the kick panels. I'll see if I can locate them.

Re: Project Vitamin C-10
That cooler will look great with your truck. Instead of Orange Crunch, you should put "Allan's Classics" with it painted your color. Just a thought.

This cooler is larger than the typical cooler. It isn't massive but can't carry it inside the cab. I want to secure it in the bed, but I don't want to drill holes in the bed. Plus the bottom isn't flat. It has about 1/2" lip around it. I have a couple ideas. One is to put rubber feet on it and use one or two stainless strip bolt holes to secure it. That way I don't have to drill holes in the wood. Posted via Mobile Device

And I like the idea for securing the cooler. Seems like that'd be a good way to utilize what you already have & protect the bed at the same time. I assume you'd put it in the corner?

I saw these gauges this weekend and wish I knew of them when I was at that stage of my build. They look somewhat vintage.
