I had virtually no warpage with this technique! and I added in a section in order to widen mine, so I had two seams. The second tub was a slower process, but a lot less (almost none) hammer & dolly work to do in order to make it look good!

To add to this, use a cutoff wheel aND knock the tops off the previous round of tacks. Gives it all more time to cool, and you can see your next round better. Did this on a beer can thin Mazda with no warpage.

working on the raising the rear inner fenders and keeping them bolt in also mocked up the inner bedside panels . I am considering turning this into a kit to sell ???
