Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
All righty then..... Its now starting to turn cold and I've got all my outside projects and what not about complete. So its time to start back on the blazer. Still haven't touched the S10, lol. I ain't buyin' da paint, so it'll sit till someone does. I've picked up every small part I could think of, knobs, rubbers, seals, felts, bolt kits, etc., to get the blazer done. I even bought a new inner and outer grill. Finally decided on a color too. BLACK! Can't go wrong with black and chrome. I just have to make sure its straight as an arrow. I was going to have it rhino lined but funds have run low. I picked up 3 gallons of rubber liner and a gun to shoot it for next to nothing at smartshoppers. We'll see how it holds up. They have it sprayed all over every counter and shelf in the place, look real good and solid. I'm planning on lining under and inside the tub. Maybe the outside of one of my tops. I had picked up everything to change it over to auto but now I'm leaning towards leaving in the 4 spd. I did get the tub on the finished chassis to day. Here are some pics.

We currently have at least three projects running on the board, all hoping to be done by next summer, so lets break em in right and take a road trip together! Don't wanna jack your thread (that's Jim's & Tim's forte) so I'll start a travel thread separate but think about it, you in? |

No doubt, lol..... Quote:
I forgot, I wasn't totally lazy on blazer stuff this summer. The wind storm played a number on my fence. I took it down and built a shelf for my tops when I put it back up. Went through the garage and I've got a bunch of parts to get rid of. They're on the parts board for anyone interested. |

Looks good Big J. I'll get to see it first hand Sat. We'll load up some of your not needed parts and see if we can do something with them. See you Sat.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Sealed every seam I could find today. Man that is some messy stuff. Got it done though. Started with the filler too. Ron and his daughter made it in around 1. Talked shop for awhile and got loaded up. Good people, glad to have met'em. Wish I'd a got some pics but forgot. Ron got some, maybe he'll post'em up. Heres what I fooled with today.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
It was good to meet you and your friends today and get a look at the Blazer. I'll try to get what pics I took up tomorrow I just can't make it happen tonight. Wish it would have been a little nicer weather but this time of year you take what you can get. Again thanks for a good deal and good to put a face with the name. Hope to see you and the Blazer in July.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Last.
I had the pleasure of meeting Big J and a couple of his buddy's yesterday. I was not feeling well when I got there and it got worse on the way home. It rained and was cold and made what should have been a great day a little less than. Big J is a fine fellow and the items were just as he had told me they would be. We forgot to load the roll bar but will work it out to get it picked up. Thanks again for the parts and good luck on your build.

Thanks, it might come to that. I couldn't believe it was 679 miles round trip. There is shorter routes but I was trying to make it easier for Missy. Catch you later.

Re: "Slowly but Surely" Big J's build thread...
Since you asked I did some sanding tonight. Finished up what little I had to do so I changed the oil in the air compressor. Then drained the tank..... Ya know its not good when ya start gettin' water coming out of the hose. I'm planning on crankin' the wood stove up and layin' down the filler all over the tub this weekend.
