Re: 198Plus build by Alan's Classic

Bolted on my front wheels tonight........Sure is nice not having to look at those 6 lug drum brakes.......Still need to put my calipers on and get rid of these small tires.

Re: 198Plus build by Alan's Classic

I would like to know the same thing. I have already purchased this combo. I have installed the front, but the motor is out so I can't really tell the difference.

Looks good, you could always dent the firewall in to clear.

Re: 198Plus build by Alan's Classic

Ran in to another problem......Figures ....... I posted how good my headers fit and they do, but number two and three cylinder spark plugs hit the headers with the angle plug heads.......So I have to run Accel shorty plugs.....Problem solved, I hope.

Re: 198Plus build

Well I got bored today and started bolting stuff back together. New doors fit really well, and new fenders fit pretty good......I'm just trying to get everything put back together to see if I really have a truck

Re: 198Plus build

Where did you get your fenders. Did they fit ok? Your truck is coming together. Did you ever figure out why it was uneven in the back?

Got the fenders from Goodmark, they look pretty good only problem I see I'm going yo have to cut a little place on top lip where it mates with the inner fender so it can slide forward about 1/8" .........I'm pretty sure its the springs I'm going to lower the truck next week, should solve the problem.....I hope

Re: 198Plus build

I was thinking that's why he's broke. I'll bet that pink pony place could be hard on your wallet.

Re: 198Plus build

I'm trying to set all the body lines on my truck and I'm not no body man, I need help. I Put my tail gate on and I have a problem, The back left corner of tail gate does not line up.....The other side is fine, I've loosened all bolts to try to line it up and still no luck. I don't think its the tailgate warped at least I hope not after all the money I spent on it......Any suggestions ?????

Re: 198Plus build

Maybe your truck is warped. Maybe take your tailgate off and put it on a flat surface to see if it's warped or the truck bedsides. I'll bet you might have to adjust the bedsides alittle. Don't really know. I think I would try to bend it a little. Put a block of wood on the other side then push on the side that wont shut. Maybe try to get a tree involved somehow. Looks warped. If you move the other sides bottom out it would help it. Maybe it's one of those ones you just have to slam really hard. I have one on my Ford like that.
