Eric is that you? If so, want to say fantastic job that you and Brad did. I'd refer work to you guys any day. Good job on saving the 76 ball - I just got a handful of them at an antique shop.

Well, I have one of those 76 antenna balls too and probably paid too much for it. I was waiting for a thumbs up before I put it on my K20.

Sounds like a thumbs down by Brad and a thumbs up by Pete

We could start a 76 antenna ball club or something.

I agree with Pete as well, fantastic work Eric.

Take care guys,
Tom

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

I've got to rebut Eric's version of events....I do not believe I threw it in the trash...however, I do think it's a special occasion embellishment only. For instance: Cinco de Mayo, the season premier of How It's Made, 4/20, any mention of Burt Reynolds, Haley's Comet, when the McRib goes away, and Christmas.

...you know the usual.

As far as the pic below, this afternoon I went to register for the September Chip Foose/YearOne event in Brasleton and saw their "Bandit" Trans Am on the YearOne website. It made me think of Burt, so I went home and placed the ball on the antenna....simple.

Well...I thought I had this licked (or at least taken it to my best reasonable point)...but when I picked this up from the printer today I noticed the artifact, or ghost lettering, or extra junk, or whatever at the very bottom edge. Gotta get that fixed and try again. Unfortunately I fly out to a meeting tomorrow and will be gone for a week or so...So it'll be next week before I can put one on the fender well.

Wow is all I can say. Like I said above I think you could print extras and recoup some of your costs and I'm still in line. Great work!!

Looks great, considering. If you end up with extras, I'd buy one for sure!

Thanks guys...I'll definitely have some extras. I've got a few because of course they prefer to print a sheet as opposed to a single. They've acknowledged the error and will do a rerun. It'll be exactly what you see minus those little marks at the bottom edge.

Thanks...

I think the numbers are:

22-384 front and 22-403 rear

I think the ones that they have that are less expensive are flat, non-tapered leaves. I got the tapered ones. I just wanted it to be as factory correct as possible and the numbers I got were supposed to be factory spec.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

The old girl made it back out to Eric's for some small loose ends. The cars keep getting older at the shop. I'm afraid he's about one car away from working on horses. Jack was refinished and installed as well as the jack handle and associated spring (still looking for a lug wrench...that is the proverbial last piece of the puzzle). Also put in the tailgate seal brackets and seal. I took the approach that member bigdon-70blazer took (as outlined in this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=371141 ). It worked great. The garage seal I got was the same shape as his, but softer, just like the weatherstripping.

Hey, hey now...this is a family website. Let's keep it professional. Furthermore, I think your equine epithet is unfair to both myself and the entire mule community. I've found that tenacity, persistence and consistency were productive and noble traits...and much like horses, mules don't rust...so don't be so quick to write off the horse thing.

What bolts did you use to mount the spare tire carrier? I'm taking mine to my powder coat guy soon, but I don't have the bed mount bolts yet.

Mine aren't OEM correct. The pic below is what I believe to be factory correct and I'm sure it's on a thread somewhere (probably the Blazer bolt thread). I used phosphate coated flange bolts. They matched other correctly phosphated interior bolts and I preferred the look. I got them at Fastenal...but Lowe's, Ace, everybody's got em.

At this point OEM correct is slim to none. Just trying to get it installed and get my spare tire mounted. Thanks.
