That, I just grabbed a bunch of colors while at a hobby shop, and this seemed the closest. I wish I would have bought an air brush though.

so. question for ya. this threads super long now so i'm its been asked before but what would you charge a guy to do this to his cluster if he sends it to you minus the cluster cover face?
ive got a 67 tach cluster and am doing an ls swap and your quality looks way better than what I could do im sure

Well, you're right, it has been asked before and the answer is always the same, I cant do it. The problem is it's only really a cost effective way to go if you do it yourself. It is a bit labor intensive, so by the time I charged you to do it, you would be able to just go out and buy a new set of gauges. If I wasn't super busy all the time I would maybe consider doing a few, but really just don't have the time. Sorry.

ill provide pics when i can. Excuse my car, tech part talk. its bad. i am trying to swap gauge parts, the motorized part, that actually function and moves the needles to the numbers on face plate. They are hard to remove. did you use any special tools? what is the procedure? How do i get the needle centered back correctly, so that gauge reads perfect? also, where can i find decals or face plates. i saw where your battery or volt meter display was numbered? if you can help me out. thanks in advance, Clark.

I am having issues rubbing the numbers of the plastic face using Mothers mag cleaner. Any tips on how to rub those off?

Use a more aggressive compound, then polish it out with mothers. The blue magic or whatever worked for me. Barkeeper’s Friend works magic, too

I didn't use any special tools to remove the needles, just pull them off with your fingers. What needles are you trying to remove? The '96 S10 needles are not hard to remove at all. To get the needle back on in the right spot, you need to power the speedo up which will move the stepper motor to what would be 0mph, then put the needle on in that spot, otherwise the needle will be off unless you just get lucky and happen to get it on in the right spot.

As for the voltmeter overlay with the numbered face that looks like what a 67-72 would have had if they had voltmeters, I pretty much gave that to Tom, Tbone1964. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=653967&page=3 He sells the whole kit to install it, or you can just get a gauge out of a square body from like '78-87 or so and use the face that comes on it, but to me looks out of place.

I would just try rubbing harder, with a finger tip in a towel and the Mothers on it. Rub in one spot until it comes off, it eventually will.

Where are folks buying their 5/8” wired bulb sockets? I bought the ones referenced here (T3.25 from Super Bright LEDs) and they were 1/2”. I have since bought 3 other sets over the course of a month and 1 set of 5 fit but the guy doesn’t have anymore. I still need 4 and have searched to the wnd of the internet I feel. Thanks for any info.

The guy I bought my set that fit from has more available now. They are 2 wire which I preferred. The only "modification" needed is that they are loose as the space between the tabs and the round part of the housing is too far apart. I bought a pack of rubber water hose seals for $2 at Tractor Supply that fit perfectly to keep the tabs snug against the underside of the housing. Good guy to work with and he notified me as soon as he got more in:
