Re: 58 GMC Project
hope you didnt scratch your new paint. What I do is bolt the top valance and the grill together then spread the fenders a little bit Of course wrap the heck out of the grill with tape then move those 2 pieces in place have someone bolt the top valance to the fenders while you support it. After that is supported you can just adjust the grill and bolt the splash apron. I assembled the whole front section a couple days ago so had the joy of inching all of that stuff together. Its still all loose fit, I should post some pictures IMO. The dash looks cool though I kind of like it because its different from the Chevy Dash.

Re: 58 GMC Project
Hey CAL, do you already have someone picked out to do the interior? Or perhaps you're gonna tackle it yourself? If you're not quite sure about a place...I know of a real good place in Hanford, it's called Central Valley Upholstery....they do awesome work and a great price. I had a buddy take his 92 chevy there and did a full custom interior, came out sweet.....just a bit of info.

Re: 58 GMC Project
I don't have any pictures, it was a buddy's truck. They built a custom dash, smoothed it over w/tweed, and it swept into a center console that went to the back seat. Looks like a plane cockpit. They covered the headliner and door panels in leather, also did 4 bucket seats in leather. I think it ended up costing about 2500 or so. They do great work and the owner Tony is a real good guy. Deffinitely not into the business to screw you over.

Re: 58 GMC Project
Cal question: Did you have any clearance problems with the calipers and the leaf springs on the rear axle? Also did you remove any of the leafs from the stock springs?

Re: 58 GMC Project
Yes I did have clearance problems with the calipers hitting the leaf springs. I corrected the problem by using lower blocks the moved the calipers away from the springs. I used the two wheel drive rear from the S-10 Blazer. The four wheel drive rear is wider and should clear with no problems.

Re: 58 GMC Project
Nice Camaro. I did not do the color sanding myselfe. The guy who painted it did. He spent a full day cutting and polishing.
