Re: New 64 Stepper Project

So I took it out for a local drive yesterday, drove it to a friends house up and down some hills until I had a "Grapes of Wrath" moment. My left front tire blew at the next door neighbors house. I got the tires and wheels at a junk yard when I started all this years ago. Hobbled home no damage.
On a positive note the truck never got very warm at all. With the temps I thought it might but it stayed way low on the temp gauge the whole time.

'Goodole Maypops'..... I think everyone has used that brand @ some point in their life.
Time for new rubber.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Ya I'm praying for my wheels to come in before I buy new tires. The neighbor is letting me use a tire and rim he has left over until mine come in.

Thanks Joe - Two more weeks so they tell me.
I put the borrowed tire/rim on, it's a 26.9" diameter tire. The other was a 28" (235-75/15).
Was thinking of going with 27's in the front (16 inch wheels front, 17's rear) but now I'm not so sure about the 27".

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

I agree with you. I think you could use a little larger tire in there and it would fill out the wheel well a little better. Truck is looking sharp!

Congrats on the first drive! Nice to know that your work is paying off. Glad there was no damage from the blow out...

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Just got off the phone with Fozzies Wheels, the Chrome American five spokes should be shipped starting (hopefully) Saturday. One box from LA and another from Ohio I think.

Hey Rocknrod, just wondering if the Honda weatherstrip arrived yet. Anxious to know your thoughts on the fit.

Yes it arrived. I used it, didn't like it and removed it. What would be perfect but unobtainable is seal trim with a 3/8 grip and a 3/8" bulb or smaller. I forced some 3/8 bulb with 1/4 grip on there and it works better on mine. Go figure.
