Should make a reasonable set of twins. just enough to whet the appetite and get me all amped up for a real set!

already in the works my friend. i am going to make an adapter that will lower the turbo slightly from the forward location and make it real easy/clean install of the primary. should also give me a place to locate the external gate if i feel like going that route. i already drew the T3 flange, so hopefully i can get those waterjetted this week. by the looks of it i'll be able to hog a 5 incher through the tangle too. i also have a sweet plan for my BHAF

Uh, I doubt your chassis will flex much to get you worried about that.

Re: 72 k20 project

Thanks Guys.

it is supporting itself again! the bags are huge, it should ride well, when the truck finished and heavier than it is now, it will be carrying little pressure in the bags. also means it will carry WAY more than the axle/truck is rated for...

now i need to measure/design the panhard stuff. ill order the rod ends sometime and probably some bilsteins as well. i still have to fab up the upper shock mounts.

anyhow

Re: 72 k20 project

WTF! That's awesome! You can start a business towing mobile homes with that rig. I know nothing about bags - can you control the ride height from inside the cab?

How much are those bags rated for?

Hahaha. it may actually handle a mobile home pretty well if the rest of the truck could...

the "normal" bag set ups that the lowered crowd use usually have in cab controlers. they are basically pressure settings that will adjust the height of the bags and therefore the truck based on the pressure in the bag. i will set mine up to maintain my chosen ride height automatically. it is pretty much a self contained system that requires only the initial setting and is totally mechanical. i will have a dump switch in the cab that will allow me to dump the bags for easy trailer hookups, and i will probably have a bag pressure gauge and a tank pressure gauge just to know. after you have hauled some loads, you can use the bag pressure required to maintain ride height as a decent gauge of load weight.

Hahaha, you guys crack me up

i think the bags are rated somewhere close to 8k per bag. its like 7830 @90psi with a max pressure of 100psi operational. i think the dodge rating for the axle is 8k and the dana rating for 80s is like 11k. it will handle well over the axle capabilities with the suspension for sure.

Re: 72 k20 project

had to measure for the panhard but had to figure out what would be where for when the bags where dumped and make sure my panhard wouldnt hit everything. i was also positive the diff would hit the gas tank as well.

here it is "aired out"

wheel stays centered!

cleared the tank. id like to say i had it all planned out, but i was mostly guessing

where the panhard has to live

Looks awesome! Do you have plans to set up the pan hard bar low to allow exhaust pass through? Your fuel tank worked out perfect too! Great work!

Re: 72 k20 project

Thanks guys

I have no plans for exhaust right now. i think a hood stack.... really i have no idea. there is a giant wall when you get to the fuel tank, and no real good way to get through it. i have a decent chance of getting over the rail for an in front of the rear tire exit. that or the pointed at the ground ahead of the rear axle and make sure everything is washed and coated in WD40 every third day. i could also bail on the rear tank and go back to incab, but F that.

the bar will be low, but that is more for the RC than anything. i am pretty much bent over no matter how i roll for exhuast

Re: 72 k20 project

Did a little fiddling with my panhard brackets today.

in effort to maximize the length of the panhard, it is really close to the drivers side link mount. i may have to untack it and slide it slightly to the inside if the rod end and the link bolt make sweet sweet love. i will find out when the ends get here

also got a trans mount fabbed up a while ago

mig weld

i have ordered all of my rod ends and bushings. hope to see them next week, but im not gonna hold my breath on the stuff from balistic. i imagine the parts from ruffstuff will be here by the end of the week.
