Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro
I completed running my external wire. Had a few questions about connecting them. I have the original wire connection harness but don't know if I should just cut that connection and solder them or use a butt connection. Once I'm happy with it and confident I will put wire jackets over everything and make it clean and neat.

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro
Front external location is routed and ready to be covered, cut, and connected. Verifying my connections and confirming the wires that won't be needed. I don't intend to cut them completely. I will cut put covers on the ends and leave them in case I decide to do something different and may need them. Like an electric fuel pump...

I've learned in my career that you don't be hasty cutting wires til you confirm your connection. Because of the Dakota Digital dash, it makes this factory connection on the Painless Wiring harness that would have went to the factory dash bezel obsolete and some of these wires will be connected to the Dakota module. But I wanted to be sure and ask one of the forum members before I make these cuts.

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro
Built some ground straps for my truck. Grind down the frame for good connection. This one goes to the frame to the bed.

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro
Made a ground strap from the back of the passenger heads on the engine to the frame. I still need to add one to the frame to the cab. I may also make some smaller ones going to the valve covers as well and one to the core support to give my headlights a good ground. I researched this and you can never have enough grounds!

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro
Now back to wiring Waiting on my Go Keyless RIFD Pushbutton start/alarm. Installed my floor dim switch. Pretty simple but I had to make a hole in the carpet. I used my solder tool. Painless kit comes with a dim switch, head light switch, windshield wiper and the ignition and a few more like the dome light switch connects. Makes things easier. I've decided to purchase Dakota Digital's Electric fan controller! Easier wiring and it gives me the ability to set my fans anyway I want! (I have no reason why this thing is side ways!)

Decided to make disconnects for my relocated fuel tank. Did some grounding and continuity checks too,all through out the truck. The inner cab is grounded next the core support.

Re: 1967 C10 Urban Retro
Thanks to Chris (BOWTIE468), I made me a 4 connect Weatherpack Connect for my tailight harness! I used my extra length of wire and made a female and male end. Now I can cut the old one and slide braided loom over the wires, splice it with solder cover it with heat shink and button it up neatly!

Preparing for column install. Need to get a limit switch. Finally starting to click. Waiting on parts! I love the fact that you can get a great deal in my parts from vendors, but I hate the wait.
