Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

Went to the Pate swap meet yesterday and got a good deal on a carb. The one I had didn't have the choke on it and needed a rebuild.

That was the guy.

Spent the day getting all the seats and console holes drilled so I could get the carpet in. After all that, I realized the carpet I got was for a low hump, not the high hump that I ordered. I called the place I got it from and they are supposed to order carpet again Monday and they said it may be in this weekend.

I did get my slosh tubs pedal cover polished and installed.

Just sat down and went through the entire build. You are doing a hell of a job and your Burb is absolutely beautiful.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

once again nice build. I was just wondering how and where you mounted the elevel sensors. Also what aluminum dash bezel is that. I thinking of switching my autometer gauges to the vhx. If you can post pics that would be great.

Thanks! Here is a picture of the right rear elevel sensor. I don't think I have a picture of the front ones. Ill take one when I get a chance.

The aluminum dash I got from someone locally but I believe its the same one LMC and the other companies sell.

Got some more parts ordered. I should be home for a while in a week or two to get some work done.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

I think I can make this kit work http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalo...it-p-4509.html

When I get back, Old Air isn't too far from me, I may take the cover up there and see if they have a demo unit that I can look and see if it will work.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

Im ready for music now. These came in the other day and I painted them to match everything else inside.

I ordered some license plates to put on if I go to a show. They are just plastic but I think I am going to glue some magnets on them so I can just stick them to the real plates.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

I didn't cut the dash and I got the radio installed. That is something that should have been done before I put the ac in but its in.

I wish I could have gotten it with blue lights, but it will work.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

Spent the better part of the day working on getting the brakes put on. I only got one side done. I ordered the spindles for a 72 and apparently I had 63-70 ball joints. I had to pull the lower A arm to swap out the ball joint which meant I had to take the header loose to get the mount A arm bolt out. Im hoping to get the other side done tomorrow.

While the truck is on jack stands, I still have a lot to the under side so before I take it off jack stands, im going to try and finish that all up too.

What color carpet did you use with the parchment seats? It looks good.

Burg looks great! You should have someone pull a fiberglass mold off of that cover. I bet you could sell a ton of them....

Thanks, I hadnt thought of making a mold. I don't know anyone that could do it.

Might be a cool idea, maybe make it just a little larger to make an aftermarket evaporator fit in it, could add a rear dome light and speakers...hum Know anyone that can do it?
