Other than that I am happy with the way it turned out. What do you guys think.
Are you hammering your welds? That welded seem is going to wrap (shrink) no matter what, so before you do it over, try stretching it.

I have already hammered and dolied the heck out of it. I know you will get some shrinkage but in my mind there is too much on this piece of metal

My old man told me to leave it the hell alone and use some filler but I have a hard time doing that

I know what you mean. I'm the same way. How long a stitch weld you doing? I do about 3/4 inch, then grind smooth, then hammer. It's been working out good. I kind of just recently learned this.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Were I screwed up was i sectioned the fender in the center I only had to extend the fender 2 inches. When I put it back together I dont think it was flat that combined with the shrinkage and there you have it the metal warped in the center. I am going to cut the next fender on the end and lower the heat a little. I use the same technique you use. See how it works. I am always trying to get better.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

I've been trying to figure out this discussion on warpage, completely missed the fenders...awesome style. Tootsies burnouts will look amazing as the smoke flows thru those holes!! Your Dad's probably not too wrong on the fix, but I trust you'll get it right.

hey thanks for looking in on my build i appreciate that.

you've always gone for perfection. and that is to be admired. if you tack every two inches and come come back and piggyback your welds until you have it completely welded. this gives the metal a chance to cool and will reduce if not eliminate the distortion

Thanks man I did that but I think the cender sagged in the center when I put the two pieces together on the second fender I did not have this problem.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Ok I have not cut the top of the drivers side fender yet to redo the metal but I will this week. I have a few more fitment issues I have to fix with the passanger side then i will do the trim around the gas tank and the rear of the bed then off to body and paint, I am ordering the motor today we are looking to make 700 to 800 hp at the wheels

That bed looks sick, you do really nice work. The motor you are planning is going to be a beast. This is going to be a crazy ass truck, I can't wait to see it done.
