Great build and nice truck! I think the stance fits the truck just fine.
You will get a lot of waves and thumbs up when that rig rolls down the highway.

Perfect stance, I wouldn't change it. It looks like it's ready to get some work done.

My friend Ron came down yesterday to go out to lunch with me and he stayed long enough to help me get started on the rear wheel tubs. I had the pieces cut so he helped me get the filler pieces tacked onto the inside sections. First picture shows the inside section and the filler piece. Second shows the pieces tacked together (I finished welding it up after he left) and the third shows the passengers side finished up and set in place. The filler piece is slid underneath the outside section, that way I can just mark along the outside edge of the filler for my width, pull it back out and cut it off.

I pretty much finished up the drivers side and set it in place I will have to take a picture tomorrow. I had to unload an old safe that a friend of mine gave me. It probably weighs 600 or 700 pounds.

Re: LockDoc's "Low Budget", "Low Maintenance" Project Thread
Very nice work Leon! I'm guessing this is one of the lowest budget trucks you've built? Just think if you started acquiring the parts for it now. You'd probably have 30% more into it minimum I bet.

Yes it is Ryan. I don't think I would have tackled the project if I was starting to collect parts for it today. I haven't figured up how much I have in it but I'm guessing it's around 5 or 6 thousand. .

A picture of the driver side tub. I need to weld a piece of metal on the back edge of the filler. I will do that when I take it back out to finish it up.

Re: LockDoc's "Low Budget", "Low Maintenance" Project Thread

I made the under floor brackets for the seat belt retractor bolts yesterday. Since I used the '91 seat belts I had to drill new mounting holes in the cab floor for the retractors. I use aluminum flashing material to make my patterns with. It cuts and bends easily and holds it's shape while you are working with it, unlike cardboard. I sold my sheet metal brake but the guy only lives a couple of miles from me and he said I could come over and use it any time I wanted to. I took them over yesterday afternoon and bent them up. Cleaned them up, drilled the holes, and put a couple of coats of paint on them last night, and installed them this morning. That's another job off the punch list.... . ![]()

Thanks Ryan. I have used that stuff for a long time

It was a 4 ft long bender and the stand was made out of the back of a big truck frame, so I gained quite a bit of room in the shop and made a few bucks in the process... ![]() .

That is very nice Leon . I've been sitting back watching and am impressed with the amount of money you saved by using what you have. I need to learn how to use up some of my extra parts I been sitting on before they're not worth using.

Thanks Mike. I have sold quite a few parts locally but I wanted to get this last project done so I could make sure I had enough decent parts to finish it. I have a short fleetside truck back in the corner of the shop that my boy wants to finish up. I started it back in 2008 so it has been on the back burner for a while..... ![]()

Thanks Jerry. Luckily my homeowners insurance doesn't care how much stuff I have. When the adjuster came to look at my Derecho damaged barn, I had everything from the barn out in the yard (and it was a LOT of stuff) all he said was (Quote) "You had all of that stuff in the barn?" Yep, every bit of it. He said "WoW".... ![]() .
