Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

Hey Menace, There was a recall on 6.0l chevy engines due to the air pollution in Californina. I myself just happen to be an expert and the program manager. What i am going to do is send you a 350/350 combo on a pallet and you send me a 6.0l engine and tranny complete with wiring. I will save you the heartache of smiling, and enjoying the modern technology which will soon be lurking under your 78's hood. HAHA...is it done yet.

The official temp here this morning was 26* BELOW 0!!! That is a -26*. Now that was cold. And that is without windchill. Tonight at 10pm it was already -11*.

The only advice I can give for your engine detailing is this--Did I miss if you are keeping the exhaust manifold? If so I think you should spend the money and have them coated. Cause they aren't gonna look so great after just a couple of miles. And that would be a real shame.
Also I think plastic stuff and most underhood stuff looks better semi black than glossy--especially things you don't want to draw attention to.
Also I'm a big fan of black crinkle powder coat--It would go really well with the silver and red.
thanks buddy... i'm going with the brp headers and hopefully (i'll know today) they can coat them black. thanks for the pointers

me too man! i'd rather be blistering hot than freezing cold!

and the way i see it i have around 720 days left to stay on my deadline! (that's 2 years left on the 3 that i planned!) i'm actually way ahead schedule as long as i give 6 months to a year for the body and paint

Note to all: There is a new schedule for us all to adapt. Sorry Bob, I like this one better.

So, when am I gonna be getting a package? I would enjoy doing those covers for you. But I need long enough with them to get them back to you to go to paint with the truck. So, if you want, hit me up!

You sly dog you! You'll be alright until the dog tears something of hers up, then you'll be out in the doghouse with the dog.

Dude,
I could have hooked you straight up...my wife is a rug rat breeder. She has some high dollar pups that are great for this situation.
