Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Do they put a big NON- or a NOT on the back when they are not on duty?

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
I have only worked one. My buddy had a 71 Pantera he got from Mexico about 1989. It ran so poorly he barely made to Portland when he got it. I helped him yank the engine to rebuild the distributor and since the engine was out new water pump was installed. He either didn't know about the panels or they weren't usable. Either way it was a pain.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Wow, THAT is nice. I have to admit, after watching mecum a week or two ago, and BJ thus far - truck prices seem to have increased exponentially in the last 6 months. They've been on the rise for a long time, but very recently, there's something in the water.
And while I'm at it... I thought L88 Vettes were rare!? I could swear I've seen more original, actual L88s and ZL1s cross the block in the last few years than were ever produced.. Ha. Well, it sure is fun to watch. Nice stuff out there. |

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
yep, blue, olive, and parchment were the only three colors available in "custom cloth" (houndstooth) for the bench seats in supers. I'm very curious about the black k10 - that SPID looks very original, but black custom cloth (houndstooth) was never made by the factory - it's big in the aftermarket, lots of folks have em, so am not sure what it could be. Was trying to find the 634 code, but no luck. I've seen some supers that had the Cheyenne vinyl ordered as a special order, but black custom cloth wasn't a thing. Custom Deluxe level black would have omitted the "custom" lingo, and just been black cloth or something like that, code 601. Just seems like a coinkidink that the SPID lists something that was never made until the aftermarket started doing it a few years back - and that is also exactly what is in his truck.

Yes, all black and white houndstooth had white, for the vinyl (factory stock) Many black trucks came with parchment, which meant door panels and headliner were white. But ? Maybe when it said black cloth, that meant the interior (door panels and headliner were black) Edit Super Spids sometimes, mention (cloth) trim, but many just mention the color of the trim, with no mention of cloth Last edited by Chevyland; 01-20-2019 at 12:37 PM. |

That SPID looks like a reproduction that was “aged”, the font doesn’t look right. The only way you got black interior in a Super was if you ordered bucket seats.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Well, I hope the buyer never stumbles onto this site and this thread, because after what was paid for that truck, it's gonna be a pretty big letdown, that is, IF the buyer even looked at the SPID and cared about buying something that was original. Probably not the case though, buyer could probably care less and will enjoy the heck out of it.

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Could be Eric, I never say never on these old trucks, see something new every day. I did think those three colors were the only available for not only the seat, but also the door panels, carpet, headliner, dash pad, etc - with the exception of parchment custom cloth which did get a black dash pad and carpet I believe. Really cool truck no matter what the case - I keep picturing it with less lift, stock tires, and PO1s... then the interior could be purple and it wouldn't matter to me!

Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’
Chuck Olson Chevrolet is still going strong. Been a customer of mine for close to forty years. Im not even sure if Chuck is still around, but his family is still running things (at least those are the names I see, could be stuff behind the scenes I don't know about) . I used see him all the time back in the day, actually a pretty decent fella for someone in the car sales business.
