Re: Surf Blue
Got the motor dropped in ,had a few clearance issues I had to handle but nothing major. The headers showed up so I test fitted those , the passenger side fit nicely but the drivers side came really close to the motor mount perch, so I did some engineering and made a little extra room there. The driver side valve cover was another clearance issue ,it was really close to the firewall so I addressed that as well. That's it for now I'll post more when I get more done.
IGNORE my nasty master cylinder and steering linkage, they're fixing to go BYE-BYE.

Re: Surf Blue
I've run into countless obstacles that I didn't forsee so that slowed me down some, and I've been out of town the past four weekends. Either way it's almost ready to fire up just a little bit more wiring left to do and that's it. As soon as I finish with the motor I'm gonna get started on a new 4 wheel "big brake" system.

Re: Surf Blue
Do you have a brand and part # for those headers?
They look nice in there.

Re: Surf Blue
They are Sanderson headers, # (BB-8) if I remember right. If you go to their website they are the ones for 73-87 Chevy trucks.

Re: Surf Blue
How easy is the plug access with those? im really sick of my Hookers on the pass side, no way to get 2 of them more then finger tight.

Re: Surf Blue
Slowly but surely.
As you can see I got all of the serp. belt setup on, and it's tight! It seems to be a good belt assembly so far ,I guess we'll find out after I get it running. All the wiring is pretty much done too, it went pretty smooth as well. It kind of scares me a little this motor swap has been way to easy thus far, I'm waiting for the big " UH -OH" to show it's ugly head any minute. I didn't want the red and blue AN fittings so I went with black instead, that also meant my options were a little more limited when it came time for carb. feed lines. So I ended up getting a black and satin billet "fuel log" for the carb. I'm trying to keep everything under the hood black and/or satin aluminum, that includes plug wires, the red ones are going to be replaced with some black ones later on. I got a new smooth air filter assembly that came only in chrome so I took it to work and painted it flat black , it turned out pretty nice. I got a valve cover breather as well that also came only in chrome so I'm going to take it to work and paint it flat black too.

Re: Surf Blue
Looks good. Keep in mind, any blue/red anodized fitting can be stripped of their color for a black or nickle finish.

Re: Surf Blue
JEGS, part #555-15195, It's a little pricey for what it is, I only got it because it was black and aluminum.

Re: Surf Blue
Much obliged! I understand spending a little more than 'reasonable' for just the right part. Keep up the good work!
