Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
I haven't done anything to the truck recently, but I did remove the rust on one of my 15x8" Rally wheels then I applied primer and primer sealer since it will be sitting outside without paint for awhile.

Hey all;
The one piece driveshaft and yoke was delivered today.
As soon as I recieve the new CPP engine perches and get the engine moved back towards the firewall I can have it shortened and ballanced.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

hey that part looks good. I worked on the column again today and it is working as good as it can with that worn out shifter linkage. But it does work a lot better now.

A quick update, I got word that my CPP sheetmetal engine perches will ship out this week so I'm really happy about that.
I can finally start moving forward again, I will post a picture when they arrive.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
Apparently CPP can't get orders out the door in a reasonable amount of time because my engine perches still haven't shipped and they have been in stock the 14th, so here I wait.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

Hey all;
As I have come to expect Jeff at CPP called me up immediately as soon as he saw my post.
It's hard not to like this guy he works hard for the customer to make sure they are happy and lets keep in mind that the vast majority of the things that happen are completely out of his control and yet he is the one who is moving mountains to fix it.
As an example of Jeffs commitment to his customers he assured me that he is kicking my complaint up the chain to the person(s) responsible for the performance of the inventory and shipping.
Durring our conversation he told me that as of Aug 20th they now have 30+ of the new 1963-72 pickup sheetmetal engine perches in stock, inventoried and ready to ship, so get them while they are hot boys.
Thanks Jeff I appreciate your commitment to excellence.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

CPP products are a pain to get, but it's tough to beat the quality of the parts for the money.

Jeff is a great guy, he's helped me a couple of times now. I can only imagine how much the company will grow if they can ever get their shizzit together.

Re: 1968 Chevrolet SWB Stepside Restomod

I may have to order the new perches this weekend.

That's one good thing about my job. If stuff is slow shipping it doesn't bother me much since I'm not home most of the time anyway.

Hey all;
From what I understand Fedex now counts Saturday as a regular delivery day for their Home Delivery service so if that's true I will get my CPP sheetmetal engine perches on Saturday.

Hey all;
Fedex delivered the new CPP sheetmetal engine perches today.
The box was punctured but when I realized the irony I laughed.

I would love to get them installed today but unfortunately I can't do it by myself.
I need the help of friends to do it because the truck has to be pushed out onto the driveway then I need someone to help me manipulate the engine and transmission while it's hoisted so I don't bang the output shaft of the transmission into the firewall.
It will get done sometime over the next week or so.
