Re: Used Parts Build
Got the inner structure done. Still trying to figure out if I should add additional tubes. I am thinking I should tie the cab mounts to the inner structure. Any thoughts?

Re: Used Parts Build
Thanks guys. I appreciate it.
Got the trans cross member finished. Everything is welded in. Going to pull the engine and trans to paint it all then toss the cab back on next unless someone has recommendations otherwise.

Re: Used Parts Build
Are you going to get your exhaust run before putting the cab on? Now seems like a good time to address that.

Re: Used Parts Build
You might want to fit the cab with the eng/trans in before paint....you'll possibly have to cut/grind and tweak something........

My buddy Murp...I know it isn't going to fit. I had to raise the engine an inch or so because I didn't account for the forward sump on the Fbody pan. Thanks for looking out. Should I drop my cab off at your place for paint? I'm thinking a three stage pearl white. If you aren't too busy...

Nothing new with my truck. I have too many projects going on and just haven't done anything with it. I just use it when I need it. I do have a 4" lift and some new tires sitting in the shop ready to go on... and new bed sides ready to go on.... and I still have a lot of work to do on the hood.

Re: Used Parts Build
And the cab is back on. Hopefully permanently!
The front is hung up a bit. In shortening the control arms so much I dont have as much drop in airing down. I plan on making tubular ones eventually and will have to fix that.

Re: Used Parts Build
Now we're talking. I have been thinking a lot about the same powerplant in mine lately. You are not helping.

Re: Used Parts Build
The internet makes it easy now. I got most of the turbo stuff from a friend who I did some work for. I found another guy off Instagram/LS1tech who I just copied the set up from and he is going to load his tune on my ECU so I don't have to worry about messing anything up while I play with it before I actually dyno it (if I get that far).

Re: Used Parts Build
The steel shop had 10 feet of stainless 4'' .065 wall tube in the scrap pile so I figured I would try to make it work. It is a bit bigger than I wanted but whatever. I am making two exhausts for it. One for daily driving and one for when I go to cruise nights and meet ups. You can guess what this one is for.
