Great job on the dent man that certainly looked bad to begin with.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
thanks, when he hit me i was thinking 2 things, 1: really? you couldnt at least hit my passenger side which is already the worst side? and 2: chet, now im gonna have a dented truck for the 2 car shows coming up!, i still got some work to do and theres some more dents on the truck that need some attention.
my brother does auto body and paint. good ole Dave said he wants me to drive the 67 over to his house so we can sander her down do body work and paint it...... thats all fine and good but the problem is..... i dont know what i want to paint it... i have 3 options that i would be perfectly fine with. gloss black/gloss white top gloss bright 67 red/ gloss white top gloss dark forest green( like the 67 68 trucks came with)/gloss white top. no matter the color im going with a mostly red interior( some black like the carpet). heres some pics of the colors ( you guys already know what black looks like on my truck). |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Paint it red. I think that is a great color for a 67. I might paint mine a satin dark blue. Not sure yet. Still gotta lot of body work to do and other things as well.

I change my VOTE to Black. Make sure you have a glossy black for a change.

Looks like black is gonna win! Yes the paint will be glossy and the body is going to be straight!

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well yesterday i was going to drive home and i was backing out and while i was steering something HORRIFIC happened....... my beautiful CST horn cap fell right into my lap..... so i went home and played operation... i JB welded 2 tabs on for now until i can find a good cap as a donor and cut the ring of tabs off and replace.
i do have some things to ask from you guys. while im driving it does a couple things that i dont really like to much. 1. when im at a light stopped, and then i give it the gas to start driving again the engine transmission seems to rattle the truck ( makes my shifter arm rattle up and down and shake LOL) is this just the engine transmission mounts? should i go back and check to see if there all tight and maybe tighten them up a little? 2. when i really thromp on the gas ( somewhat aggresively) i notice my gas pedal seems to stick a little bit. is it my return springs? or could it be that since my gas pedal is brand new that its a little tight on the two studs on the floor? 3. when it goes to shift from 1st to 2nd it stalls and rev's high and after about 5 or 6 seconds it shifts at im guessing 15 to 20 mph. should i adjust the modulator a little more to the right? or should i run a bigger line for the vaccum? maybe its vaccum? 4 my sending unit is brand new and my guage is still good and worked like it should until the old sending unit went bad, but now with the new sending unit it doesnt read very good. i put 40 bucks worth of gas in it yesterday, but before that i had put 30 in and i only burned maybe 10 doolars of the 30 so i had about 60 bucks worth of gas and it only read about maybe 10 dollars worth of gas... it jumped around a bit to but now its back at about 10 and i still have alot more then 10 dollars worth of gas. and 5. my speedometer doesnt work. the speedometer itself is good the cable is good and i pulled the little gear out and the gear is good as well. is it the other internal gear or what should i do hear? hopefully you guys can help me out on these things. other then that it drives good and if i hear something rattle or if i thinks something comes undone i go and tightne or replace or fix whatever it is. and its been going smooth. been taking lots of pictures at gas stations and at random places i have a new phone so i dont exactly how to put pictures on the computer yet... but ill figure it out and post them for you guys. should be getting actual plates for it by the end of this week. and it will be fully registered. hopefully i can get some type of bed floor for now and paint should be coming real soon. |
