Hey Mike, its really coming along. It must be nice to be able to work on one inside!

I still haven't located that passenger side door sill that I have. I know it's around here somewhere. I try looking somemore tomorrow. Hopefully that LS info made it through.

Sisco's fab (on Facebook) is building some that look like they will work , he says he is just waiting on his water jet guy to get the pieces back to him for production ! As soon as he does I will get a set , I have a picture of them on my computer at work that I will post tomorrow

That would be awesome. I talked to you on the phone once. You ever get any solid side windows? I have a extra set in Southeastern Oklahoma if not. I def need a set of them hinges for my bagged/bodied blazer. Can't wait to see a pic.

Mike, I went and looked at that Jimmy from Craigslist today. The passenger side top glass was shot out just recently and the rear glass was too scratched. I did grab the gauge cluster with a clock and I'm going back to get the tailgate band when he gets the gate open. I don't think you'd want the band though...it's nice but not perfect.

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

The next set of pictures is cutting out the cracked floor around the seat mounts to replace the metal then i need to figure out how to make it stronger, maybe just a thicker/bigger plate under the floor ? any ideas ? By the way that beautiful bend in the sheet metal i used my "CHIP BRAKE".....LOL, Chip stood on the work bench/on the metal and i bent it over the edge !

Nice work on the floor patches Mike! So the seat frame is just bolted through that? I would think you'd want it bolted through something a little heavier. If nothing else, a heavy fender washer on the back side. Too much trouble to modify the seat frame so it's got a bigger foot print there?

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

Whatever you do under the seats you wouldn't want to look out of place I'm sure. Even though it's pretty well hidden. I think though that if you took 3/4"x3/4" square stock and tacked two runs under each seat location you'd stiffen it up plenty. If you wanted to make them look clean you could 45 the ends and cap them. Or 3/4" angle...it wouldn't look as good but you could bolt through it easier. How are the seats bolted down in those spots? You could weld the seat nuts onto the angle or into the square stock if you put them in the right location too.

Here is a picture of some 1"x1" angle that I used to stiffen the firewall of Popeye at the brake pedal for reference. It's super stiff now (that's what she said). You could make them look better by angling the ends and making the tacks more uniform and of course with the undercoating or paint you're probably going to do.

It's going to be obviously wider than it is tall - very cool Mike.
