words can't define the job you've done. mine won't be anywhere near this quality I fear.... can I ask what brake kit you used. I was thinking of just doing a c5 conversion upfront but I really want 4-6 pots for that visual aspect. Q |

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
I converted my brakes from the basic C4 brakes to C6 Z06 brakes. The C4 suspension doesn’t have many options to upgrade. To do the swap like mine you have to buy a bracket kit for the front and a separate aluminum bracket kit for the rear. If you have th early C4 suspension you have some options but mine was from a 1990. My setup was actually cheaper than running all wilwood brakes if the kits were available.

Here’s a couple of pics of the bed floor in progress the night before Lonestar Throwdown. Should get it wrapped up in the next couple of weeks.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
Murd969,
Your bed is going to look great! I’m literally about to start assembling my (stock) bed today. I wish I’d pre-fitted it so I could have drilled the mount holes BEFORE I finished the wood -DOH! How will yours be attached to the frame? Using the stock mounting bolts or some other method?

Hauled the 56 for the first time on the new trailer. Worked great with no issues. Much better trailer than the other one.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
I like it a lot. The only issue I have is that my fuel tank wasn’t made properly so I ordered a custom one with the internal fuel pump from Boyd welding. I still need to do the learn mode which will self tune it. Once I get the new fuel tank I’ll get it dialed in better than I do now.

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
How hard was it to hook up the 700r4 with the Sniper EFI? What did you use for a bracket for the TV Cable?

Re: 1956 Chevy 3100 Corvette Suspension
It wasn’t much different than anything else. I’m not sure in the bracket that you’re talking about but I know we didnt have to do anything special to get it going.

I got my custom fuel tank with internal fuel pump from Boyd’s welding. Tank looks awesome and definitely well built.
