1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Denee you were 100% right! The rear valance was way off. a little more then a 1/4" on the side and the screw holes didnt line up. So i said screw it and put the stock valance back on. I messed up the new one a little anyway but o well for $28 im not too worried about it

Cut up the package tray for the speakers and installed it. Added an extra holder in the center since the abs had a little bow in it

Got out and did some work today. Jacked the car up and put a jack stand under the frame rail so i could cut out, wire wheel, and weld a new panel under the seat riser. I got it fitted and spot welded in before i ran out of weld wire but unfortunately im broke due to having lasik surgery this Thursday and all drugs are expensive. So i moved on to the rear panel panel and hit it with bed liner. Its slightly different color then the actual car but other then the texture its hard to notice.. I was hoping for it to stand out a little more but it works

So I have been quietly thinking about how i would get rid of having gray seats without spending a crap load of cash on new covers...Well atleast for now! So I go to spraying today and got them to go with the color scheme kinda. The driver seat turned out pretty good and is dry in the piics. Next to it you can see the passenger seat freshly painted looks a bit brighter and patchy. Im hoping it drys just like the driver side

A little of whatever i can do. Its been cold and wet out lately and sat is looking like much of the same. So my progress is been very slow. It was in the mid 60s the day i did the seats so i thought it was a good thing to do while it was warm. Tons left to do though....Really want to finish welding in the bottom panel but this weather isnt going to work. So i dunno, I am going to try to do something sat. Maybe start putting the lights back in

I've just finished installing the HID/ballasts headlight upgrade with the Halos. I wanted something different than the stock lighting as the sealed beams just don't put out much light! I bought these from www.prostreetlighting.com, the kit was about 200 bucks. A little pricey, but really adds some pizazz to the front and a blast of white light. The halo's are only noticeable with the lights off, as the bright lights wipe out the halo affect.
Something else to ponder with all the other stuff you've got going on!

Obviously the old sealed beam is on the passenger side, the drivers is the new HID.

Very nice! I am planning on converting over to Black Halo Projectors but not sure if ill do HID or not. I simply planned on doing the Relay Harness which is much brighter. Thats actually what I did on my 78 Pickup. Plus if you havent done that on your current setup you should! The relay will give you more power

Ordered more stuff. SprayDead brushable sound deadener (Only 59.99 on ebay), 3 pt belts, and will order my dashpad monday... cant wait to get installing all of this stuff lol

Looking good man! Mine's been sitting for a couple months with no brakes! Those single bowl reservoirs are dangerous! I got the old one out and had to go buy a bunch of lines to rebend. Fun.

I wish my interior wasn't already done. There are so many cool seat options now (you can even get "factory style" 65/66 covers for the fox body seats). I've spent too much on the car already. I should add head rests though...

Yeah, its a lot of work and i have so much left to do. Im pretty excited about the brake conversion but this cold weather is killing my ability to work most the time

Well scored a bin of parts today for $100. Was hoping the rear would be posi but its wasnt. Just an 8" 3.25 gear setup. A 4 Barrel FOMOCO intake, a fog light, i believe a 68 grille tirm, a drivers side manifold, a driver rear qtr, etc....Nothing i really need so maybe i can sell it and make some money back

Managed to get some work done today. Finished welding the bottom pan in, ran seam sealer around all the weld on the inside and under the bottom panel i just installed. My 3 point seat belts showed up and then i realized there was only 1. BLAH! I had to order another but i welded in the bracket for the first one.

Nice work on your car. I'm curious to how well the seats wear and hold up. I had a buddy back in high school that painted his whole interior black and it was grey and I think he said it was fine for a couple of years. Keep up the great work.

Haha, yes sir!!! I got the same as you except I went with those new vintage look buckles I also put mine back further then you did on yours as well i like the hole that was there so i could make sure they were located the same on each side and im tall so it worked.

Yeah thats kinda what i expect but i plan to upgrade to vinyl or leather eventually. This was a get it to go with the color scheme and get by things lol

Well had to take a lunch break but i got the driver side 3 point brackets installed and cleaned her up and but a coat of the brush on sound deadener. Have to wait 3 hours before it drys so i guess thats all of that for today. Time to go work on the exhaust

And 3 hours later i finally got the exhaust off with the help of a butane torch. Jesus what a pain. 3 Bolts came out and one nut. Didnt break anything off but good to install the new one now...

Do you have a pic of the hole you're talking about? My 65 coupe only had one hole available. You're 67 may have had more options? I think ford added a threaded plug in 68 or 69?

I also talked with TMI about doing a custom Pony Sport seat kit for my car (the more bolstered factory seats, but not the crazy bolstered version like the Sport II or R). I've always wanted a pony inerior car, but the only blue combo is the light blue/white. They can make me a dark blue white combo. There are two "dark blues." When I get the samples I can see which matches the best and get it made.

I spent half the day under mine making new brake lines. Holy crap. Someone needs to come up with pre bent lines for these aftermarket power disk combo kits!

In 68 they did add the threaded. I looked at your write up a few times and this is further back a few inches. It is right above the curve of the qtr window. I just know I would of not lined them up exactly the same on each side. I didnt on the bottom but thats another story.

That's neat, so that IS the factory "planned" location for the belts, because I believe they used the same spot in 68 like you said, and just added the threaded plug like in the 67-72 trucks.

I never want to bend brake lines for one of these cars again. I got the back and LF done, I have to do the RF today. The ford line is a one piece line, but I may have to make mine two and connect them, I don't think I can get it in without buggering up stuff.

Also, Eastwood's tubing flare and bending tools ARE as awesome as they claim them to be.
