Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Although no spid I am certain this is an original Highlander. Parchment door panels, sun visors and set belt holders, black dash pad, the right mirrors and A/C for a YG8 package. pretty sure tilt wheel and of course paid seat.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
72 C20 Custom Camper highlander and big block - has the options of a pkg c truck, but no SPID in the ad, so could have been ordered options with the plaid seat option. Who knows! Nice truck. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-C-...m=262113168355

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
I'd be willing to bet this is a hidden highlander. And for a C20 Custom Camper, $1750 might not be a bad deal! Would love to see the SPID to confirm.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
I'm on a C20 Custom Camper roll tonight... Here's another. A little more pricey, but loaded. Wonder if the seller knows it's a Highlander. Lots of money spent to re-do it and to do the interior in black instead of parchment/plaid. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/5266712178.html

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Ok, I'm really on a roll now. Another one.... (Custom Camper C20 Highlander) - this one a B pkg YG7. Has aux tank and bedside toolbox also - rust doesn't look bad, if any at all, for $4800. THIS one might be a pretty decent deal. If I were looking for one to buy, I'd probably find zero! http://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/5282545761.html

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Those are loaded for their day. Good finds. I always liked the short beds much better. But those would be great to resto or just keep patina on them as they are.

Also found this one on CL up the road from me. 69K original miles it says. Looks like a nice truck. No spid pics but looks like a legit Highlander

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
That 72 looks real Nice. Could use paint touch up but with that low Miles would be a awesome find. Or leave as is and clear coat to keep the patina.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
Found this one surfing Craigs list. Its a C20 which is not as common as the C10 Highlanders. Although no Spid posted I'm very sure its a YG8 Promo Package Highlander with the tilt and A/C being visible.

this one is for sale in Central Indiana
This 1972 Chevrolet C10 Pickup is powered by its original 350 CID V8 engine, backed by a Turbo Hydra-matic 3-speed automatic transmission, and running to a 12 bolt rear end. The truck was just professionally repainted back to its original medium blue and white exterior color and will sure to be turning some heads. The body was in great condition prior to the repaint and still retains its original sheet metal. It sits on a great set of rally wheels for that classic original look. Inside you'll find the original Custom Deluxe interior with a comfortable bench seat covered in cloth and vinyl with plenty of room for three across seating. Options on this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Pickup for sale include: AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Power Brakes (front disc/rear drum), Power Steering, Seat Belts, Cloth & Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, Rally Wheels. This truck also comes with the original owner's manual, warranty card, dealer invoice, and sales invoice. There's no reason you couldn't drive this truck every day and catch glances everywhere you go. It's getting hard to find second generation C10 pickups in this condition and will sure makes its new owner proud. $19,000 located in Indianapolis http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/indianapolis/1972/chevrolet/c10-S452.html Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
I wouldn't pay $19K for that truck. Too much clearcoat, no A/C and rust on the wheels. I don't get it, if people are asking top dollar for their vehicles, shouldn't the vehicle be in top condition and highly optioned? Certainly, the original paperwork and P-o-P adds a premium to it, but not sure it warrants $19K asking price. The televised auctions and restoration shows have skewed many into thinking that ordinary run-of-the-mill trucks are worth their weight in gold.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
I have never seen a vin (7th digit #) or a SPID like that. Perhaps some of you more knowledgable members can comment about it. I find stuff like that really interesting and would love to learn something new. It has a pretty interior, for sure.

Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
In 1972 they went to a 13 digit serial number. On any 72 the first C means it is a Chevy and if it's a T it's a GMC. And just for more info they went to the 17 digit serial number for the 1981 model year and they still use that today.
