Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
power is in !!
having problems getting the rack to clear the oilpan. I tried shimming it out but that's still not enough clearance. we may need to drill holes a little lower on the dropmember to get it to drop down 1/4". Nate sent me new plates that raised the motor mounts up 1/4" but the rack just sits too high. I understand these things are suppose to be geometrically in line but it would be nice if the dropmember tabs were a little more adjustable for these custom jobs.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Yea... Really close. Fired it up about 20 min ago and MAN IT SOUNDS GOOD!!!! Those Borlas sound incredible with this stroker motor. We had a bit of pain trying to run this fuel pressure regulator and the spot we mounted it is not really where I wanted it but it will work and the bed covers it up. I really didn't want to mount it on the firewall bc it is so clean now. Tomorrow I will make a mount for the regulator and finish things up....then hopefully go burn some tires down. LOL

Yeah I nicked my firewall stabbing my motor in also. I saved a little bit of color and touched it up, you can hardly tell. Oh well I was never too good at keeping things new

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
getting closer.... its been really slow lately. I haven't been able to get away from the.restaurant much bc I lost my right hand manager. yesterday I was able to spend a lot of time on it. I was able to get the front end on, get all the lights wired up and finish up on all the little nick-nak things that needed to be dine.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Brian - just my opinion here, but are there any other options for the upper rad hose?

I see some people fabicating metal tubing with small sections of hose at each end. Maybe something like this,... with a thermostat housing with a different angled neck. (90 degree)

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
I used a factory 72 C10 upper big block hose on my 68 S/C truck. It fit perfect and no metal pipe required.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
I am defiantly going to change that hose... I HATE IT. I have been looking everywhere for a hose that will come up to the middle of the block but havent had much luck at all. I am really looking for different options, that flex hose was the only thing I could find that would work for the moment.. Hart_Rod... I will have to look into that. Thanks!!
