Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

Here"s a couple new pics.
I have been driving it for a few daqys now and really enjoying it.

I have the interior pretty much wrapped up now. Got the cruise wired up yesterday and works great. Stereo installed. Recieved my rear disc brake brackets for the dana that's going in it soon. I orderd up some airbag brackets to put helper bags on the rear and i will be adding a new upper shock crossmember so i can get the shocks installed at a better angle.
I still need to get the tailgate painted and the bedliner sprayed, hopefully that all will be done in a couple of weeks.

Nice truck. How did you hook up your filler neck for the tank, and does that tank interfere with the shock at all? thanks.

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

Thanks.
I brought I up through then bed floor in the left rear corner and will build a box around it with a lid.

On a short bed the rear shock has to be moved to the front of the axle.

Yes we did. Luckily no naders in our area and no 3" hail this time. They were about 45 miles to the south west. Did you guys get any of that 3 feet of hail the other day?

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

I finally got all the parts in to do the rear disc swap on the dana 70 for my truck. I bought the brackets from DIY4x4. When i went to put them on they where offset to the inside to much just like on wyattglocks truck. So i called up Kert and he sent me some 1/4" spacer out for them. That's awsome customer service.

I have decided to go with a set of bags in the rear and bought some lower brackets that have a lower shock mount made on them. I had to move the p.s. shock to the front side of the axle and with the truck so low it really lays the shocks at a pretty bad angle.
That brings me to the next problem, the third member hitting the bed floor. So i am going to cut the center out of the floor and build a new upper shock mount and a upper bag mount. My thinking is that the shock needs to be as close to straight up and down as possible to work correctly and give the best ride. While i'm bending tubing i may as well go ahead and build in a goosneck knob.

Now that i am at this point i start to think that i might as well bag the front while i am at it?
Some of you guys with bagged duallys tell me how the ride is. By the way the rear will aol.

Mine is not a dually, but its a 1 ton on full air ride. The only thing I wish i would have done is a better control system.. Ride is awesome, like a Caddy...

Cool. That's what i wanted to hear.
I pretty much have made up my mind to do it.
Are you fourlink in the rear or air over leaf?

Re: crew cab short bed build " clifford"

I did a 4 link from ART.. I used there control system, but if I was to keep the truck I would change it up to have level controls to make things easier and quicker to set up to drive height.. Porterbuilt made me some narrowed A arms too, cleans the front up nicely
too.
