Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Just picked up a 91 K2500, 214k, 350/4L80. Needs a bed and trans work, and a little this-and-that. Got it as you see it for $400.

$400 seems more than fair. Welcome to the board.

My 97 at work. Had to move over and let the big truck do it.... Parked during tractor work. Gah she looks good from a distance.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Got mine cleaned up to go to the Goodguys show yesterday...first time I've taken pics since it came back from the body shop. New driver's door, new driver's side cab corner (now rust free). I put on new lights -- clear headlights, LED parking lights and tails, with resistors to keep them from fast-flashing (props to ChevLoRay for pointing me in the right direction). New side mirrors -- my old ones had paint flaking off, new fender trim up front to replace my old dinged up stuff...anyway, it's gotten a nice facelift and I went a little nuts with the camera. Enjoy.
Before...a shot of my wife's "custom bodywork..." And after I shined it up yesterday...

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Then, after the Goodguys show, my wife and I had dinner downtown (Demos' on 3rd, if you were wondering) and, since I had to park in the garage anyway, I thought I might as well go to the top level and take advantage of the scenery. Viva Nashvegas.
I like my LEDs -- they aren't the brightest, but they were pretty cheap and give the truck a little bit different look.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Its a little rough on the inside and the paint has got some blems. But Im not gonna complain about the price. It only has 109,000 on it and runs and drives great. Has flowmaster cat back with duals out the back. I dropped the back alittle, now I need to go down a couple inches in the front. (UPDATE) Got the the front down.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Its my first truck, got it when I was 13. Im 16 now and Ive already had to replace the motor. And yes I mean I had to to replace it, my parents wouldnt, but thats a good thing, maybe I wont ruin this one. Its a 91 GMC sierra regular cab, step-side. Had a 91 model 350 with throttle body, now it has an 83 model 305 with 4 barrel holley carb. Its a little ruff, already painted it myself once, got to do that again sometime when I finish my body work on it. I put it in 5 foot of water at one time, set there for 5 hours, finally got it out, here it is now 6 months later.

Welcome gr8ride. That's a sharp looking truck.
Chevloray - the clear corners will really finish off the front end of the truck. Your hard work is defintely paying off. |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Here's the V6 Farm truck. I'm 16 too btw. Only dropped a new motor in my 79 because I decided it was cool to bust snow drifts and it sounded sooo good at that 3-4k range. And there went all 3500 bucks I had saved up for a diesel Chevy of some sort.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
My friends who give me crap about that pick up having the v6 vortec, they sure turn there heads when I walk by them with there Dodge 318's and Ford 5.Slows.
I like the combine more though...... Too bad Dad won't let me drive it more than to the other side of the yard...

Hey GMC91, How difficult was it to convert your truck to a carb set up?

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
wouldn't be difficult on the earlier models. you could either run off of your factory pump, install a reg., and strap on a carb. all of your gauge sending units for your dash would work. shouldnt be bad at all. I considered it before I went on with my tbi project. much cheaper to go the carb route if your thinking of performance upgrades.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
It wasnt hard at all, just your check ingine light will always stay on. Everything else just plugs right up. And on the fuel pump you can either put in a reg. or you can just do what I did since my fuel pump was bad and buy an inline fuel pump that is rated for 4-7 PSI. Perfect for carb.
