Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Worked on the '99. Spliced the gas gauge wires, have to see how it works but I think it will need the sender. Changed some PCV thing that had broken clip ears and would blow off sometimes with a big smelly puff of smoke. Added the missing headlight/key in ignition buzzer. I have the DRL module that was missing but I'm not sure if I want to put it in.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

I've been hearing this noise, sounded like the alternator bearing. The noise got pretty loud today, so I removed the alternator belt and started it up. Well... it was the alternator bearing making noise, but the louder noise was something separate. I think the transmission is close to dying. I just put that thing in there, and it looked recently rebuilt.

Had a chance to check it out better. Luckily not the transmission, but the noise was pretty close to it.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

So this dust shield whatever thing broke off, so I had to cut it off. Bearing is fine. That's all I can do tonight, have to pick up the mount and alternator tomorrow.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

The temperature door motor for the '99 is bad. I managed to get it to open to cool and unplugged it, so I have a/c again.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

I changed the master cylinder reservoir on the '93. Hopefully that will stop the leaking. I changed the master cylinder twice.

Picked up a hitch from the junkyard. I'm going to have to cut the old one off my truck.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

I like the gold bowties, too. Nice gold bowties! Dang, $100.

The announcement I need to make is I greased up the front end on my Suburban Saturday morning. Not your ordinary lube job here. The driver side upper ball joint zerk wouldn't take grease. No problem I figure. I have a bunch in my bins. Oh shoot, metric! No can do. I make a Saturday evening run for metric zerks. Sunday evening I put the new zerk in and greased her up. So it took two days for that lube job

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Nice. I have one, too, and an upgrade steering wheel to install. I need to replace the multifunction switch in the column, so the wheel goes on then. And the stereo will go in when I replace the heat/AC control panel, once I find one.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

The '99 started misfiring the other day, and since I know the timing is off I figured it's the distributor cap and rotor. Picked up a brass terminal one and it's running as it was. I think my brother or one of my cousins has the thing I need to set the timing so I don't toast the new cap. I'm not sure if I can use the old bad one to do the cut a hole in it trick but I might try anyways.

Re: What did you do yo your truck today??

Added a dash mat. I’ve used these for years in my cars. Really helps cut glare.
