Re: Killers 5.3L install
ok...well after a year and a little luck from a fellow board member i found killer residing about 60 miles from my house. Killer was impounded after a guy was found to have had 9 stollen vehicles in his posession . The body shop where killer was impounded said the dude was out of jail less than 2 hrs later and was at the body shop to remove his belongins....go figure....never the less killer isn't how i left him. The insurance company wants a rediculous amount in return and i told them to send someone out to inspect him and then we would talk $. At this point i'm not optimistic about getting him nor am i sure i even want him back...

Re: Killers 5.3L install
Well I'm glad that you located him. I figured that it would show up eventually, but not that close to home. Maybe things will work out with the insurance company.

Re: Killers 5.3L install
glad to see that she was found, and i hate to say this but sometimes things are better left the way they are, if you end up with killer back it would be great to have, but you know you will do a complete rebuild of her and then some, which is good, at least you are settled inside knowing what happened now, btw that guy should rot in jail, i hate ppl like that, good luck with the settlement,
James

Thanks Liz, i definitely got some closure today. the picts don't do justice to the appearance of killer. It truly looked like my 8yo painted him. The truck had no personality and it would take several thousands of $$$ to getem close to how he was when i gotem back from Don! You haven't seen the last of Killer71...there are bigger and better things coming right around the corner...you guys just hang around!

Re: Killers 5.3L install
Brother, what can I say? You must be torn between wanting Killer back and letting him go. I imagine you feel that somehow, there's something no longer "clean" about the truck. That's the bigger crime committed by these scumbags. I've been in your situation - done that, and I can tell you, it's a tough call.
My good friend is the advertising director of Georgia Outdoor News GON - I subscribed to this magazine when I lived in Atlanta years ago and it's an awesome resource for hunters/fishermen. They used to have a section called "Hall of Shame" and it was dedicated to publishing the name, address and any other legally allowable information of those who got arrested committing hunting/fishing crimes (poaching, out of season, protected game, etc.) They often published the mug shot too! You can imagine, this did not sit well with the criminals. Hmmm . . . wonder if we could start a thread with similar information on truck thieves, what they stole, VIN numbers, etc? Could be a good resource for members to use when looking to buy a used truck - who to stay away from, that is. Just a crazy idea.

Re: Killers 5.3L install
yea that would be a good idea but there are more people involved that i would like to see go down as well as lose their jobs! Also you are right about the "clean" part...it may be stupid to say but i feel kind of violated. Yea i probably can get the truck back but it's not "killer" anymore just because of some scum bag without a conscience!

Re: Killers 5.3L install
Did you learn any more details of the actual theft? Just a random thing or was there more to it?

Kaleb, I'm just glad you have some closure with this thing, that dude is a true scum bag and it's business as usual at his place.
