Re: '67 Short Step #2

Kyle, the truck is starting to really come together, looking amazing, i remember when i first did my bed floor i loved it so much, just make sure to keep her clean and coated every year, that is what they say at least. i had problems with my coating, marine spar finish. and as for the bike, TOO COOL!

Thanks. The bed floor does make it seem alot more complete. Hopefully the carpet will make the same feeling for the interior.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

I got my carpet and seat installed today. Now I just need a dash pad, sill plates, and speakers. And just in case you missed it, I threw in a picture of the bike.

Hey Rafael, you might have better luck posting your question in:The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network part of this site.

I am sure someone there will chime in with the right answer. I have a stepper so I can't get those measurements at the moment!

Kyle, love the bike. Cool how you color matched it to your truck. Oh and on the safety of your seatbelts... remember we are driving trucks with drum brakes all around. Every time I have to hit my brakes it is a new adventure! It's called "Can I stop in time!!??". Doesn't really matter if your seatbelts hold or not at that point.

Hey, if you ever get tired looking at them, I would love to have them. I bet they are just as safe as anything they have today, I would trust them.

Just kidding!

Re: '67 Short Step #2

That's what I say. I don't drive around in a 42 year old truck because of their safety features! I've actually got my drum brakes working really well right now. You just have to check you adjusters every now and then.

Those wheel spacers make a world of differance. Your interior is looking good too.

The bike will be there!

I got the CD player installed this evening. It flips open to eject the CD's and pushes the radio delete plate open. Otherwise you don't see it. I don't have any speakers yet but I have started on the kickpanel enclosures.

Re: '67 Short Step #2

I hadn't adjusted the valves since the rebuild and they were pretty far off, so Bobbo brought his clips and got them were they need to be. Runs much better now!
So here are some videos for you...

This video is before the valve adjustments but still worth posting.

I like this one too.

And here's the latest update. I've always wanted a grapling hook so I made one and it ended up turning into motivation to finally wet sand and polish the paint. The scratch didn't get into the color at all, just scraped the clear. Ooopps!

Truck is looking good. It's amazing how fast 45 MPH sounds when you rev up a 6 banger.
