Great job thus far, keep up the good work. When you replaced the floor. Did you use patch panels or a complete floor? I have a lot to replace, I'm just trying to figure out what the best way to go is. Check out my thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=419519

If you have a good bit to replace I would go with the whole floor. I had a good bit to repair and am very happy I did the whole floor. If you look around you should be able to get a good price on one. If you add up all the patch panels, electric, gas, filler/wire and grinding discs and most important time and headaches. I bet you wont be to far off the price of a new floor. You get a super nice and clean finish and will be happy.

If you dont mind me asking, where did you get your floor and how much was it? As I'm from Canada, I'll probably have to get it out of the states so I'm trying to find the best price and shipping.

I did the entire floor as well. Most body panel vendors can get the part, cheapest is $355USD and average is more like $450USD. Shipping wouldn't be cheap, I suggest that you drive down to your nearest vendor and pick up if that's an option. It is a very nice piece though...

like mike said, it would be pretty salty for shipping. i had paid 355 for mine and picked uplocally. you could try and make arrangements to pick up at a car show or something like that to save on cost.

thanks slick! i have got to get moving, to catch up to you! i am hoping in the next few week to start working on putting my bed together.

well interesting stuff for me today. the family had a horse show so i worked on the tractor and gave it a tune up. i had bought a tune up kit it had points, cap, rotor, condenser, plugs, wires and a new fuel bowl. got everything done but the wires i have to make them and feed them thru a conduit and ran out of time. it absolutely blows my mind that a piece of equipment from the late 1930s can still run like a top! so i have to get a new tire mounted and i am good to go. then back to the truck!

gettles machine shop in lebanon. 273-7619, honestly they are the cheapest i could find and checked with several people and they are very reputiable. i was worried about how cheap they were but nothing but praise! if i remeber correctly 170ish cant remeber exactly but for a scratch built shaft, 2 yokes and new ujoints. i dont think that is to shabby

i hate to say this but have had thoughts of selling the truck. i dont know why but have been thinking that? i just know i would not get out of it what i have into it. i guess i just need to work on it to get back into the mood.

definitely work on it when you can and get it back together....hopefully you'll be able to enjoy it but either way...get it together so you can get the most $$$ out of it

DONT SELL IT all your work on that cab will be gone for ever no one will appreciate the work you did to get make it a rust free cab you were a couple steps away from disasembleing the whole cab sanding painting and welding back together well just look at 67 pictures and get back in the mood
