Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
Interior is killer. how is it the sun beaming off that wheel though? Or does the visor help with that?

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
99 to Life- The visor does help a little. But, when the sun hits the wheel it'll make you jump back. My biggest complaint would be the temp of the wheel on hot & cold days.
wuss721- I've got to sort out some of the little things and get it aligned before It's ready for freeway driving. I'll let you know when I do, and we'll met up. I need to stop by and see if I can't talk you into selling me one of your burbs. ![]()

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
Thanks man, appreciate the love. The carpet is leftover stuff I had when I did the bed of my Tacoma (Home Depot special). I'm planning on making some blue and white metal dimple die floor mats. There won't be to much carpet showing.

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
Did some work to the hood & emblem. Still needs to be cleaned up around the edges and rust removal. I'm thinking of a ram air style box mounted in the hood directing air into the shotgun. Just thought I'd share some unfinished stuff.

Here's a better shot after some cleaning. Also added a Taurus fan today. Both mods should net about 150 hp...lol

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
can you take some pictures of the Taurus fan set up? I'd like to do the same on mine.
I checked into a ram air set up and it gains you about 5% more HP overall. I love the way you customized yours, you'd never even know it's there. Very cool bud. It's nice to see you back working on the fleetside

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
Sorry for the bad pics dubie. I do have to remove the support and grind down the welds and add paint. I'll make sure to get some good pics. I had to cut the ford shroud down to make it more narrow, to give me some clearance to the water pump pully.

Took the 59 out today and stretched her legs out some. Check out the clip. It's nothing fancy, just up and down the road.

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
If you chrome them it oughta be good for about 175 HP. No, really! lol.
I really LOVE your interior. Is that upholstery from Ricks Custom Upholstery online? Because it kinda looks like his work. If it is, can you tell me which style name you chose? It looks like what he calls "Roadster" just in two tone. Any detail pic's of that lower dash valance?

Re: SGTUSMC '59 build
Dan- The cover is from Rick's. I sent him an email, asking if he could cover the 88 C1500 seat I had. He told me he could and he's going to update his web page adding the newer seat upholstery. I went with his V-bar style with white insert and piping. I'll get some more pics of the valance for you.
Zapisocki- Thanks for the kind words. Wish you the best on your build. I thought about the Caprice route to. But, the C1500 just happen to land in my garage. If you go with a C1500 frame, and you plan on getting the cab to lay over the frame. You'll have no problems in doing so. However, The stepside bed isn't wide enough to fit between the rails. You'll have to modify the steps. Or just go with a fleetside ![]()
