Re: 56 shop truck build
That looks really good. Mine is painted with Blitz Black and I have been thinking about shooting it with the flat baby blue from Summit and rubbing back through to the black in places. Again, very nice work.
By the way...what size tires did you end up going with on the front. I've got monoleafs installed and a CPP drop axle in the shop to put on. the current 235/75 15's are a little wide to be dropped that low. |

Re: 56 shop truck build
I ended up with a 205 60 R15 but will be changing it to a 215 70 R15. The ones on the front give it a cool look but it's not enough side wall cushioning for me.

Re: 56 shop truck build
we are going to let it weather this year and then do a matte clear over it during the winter. I'm hoping to be done with the paint work this week so we can get the truck back out and driving by early next week. I still have to install the bed floor

Re: 56 shop truck build
That's the idea behind it Rod. I want to make it look as naturally aged as I can. Right now we are sanding with 400 grit to get the bulk of the blue sanded. Then I'll move to an 800 grit to feather out some edges and then to a scotch brite pad to make sure everything is the same shade of dull.

Re: 56 shop truck build
This truck is on ebay right now. they did a good job, but looks like they didn't sand the patina process while all the body was together. it doesn't flow.
