So, I know I’m going to catch some heat
But, I have went with a 4.8 LS. I’ve stalled due to purchasing my grandfathers John Deere tractor back and am taking care of other things at the moment. But as always I am hoarding parts Hope everyone is doing well

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
Hey, nuthin wrong with the 4.8 in a truck this size. Besides, it will be all set up for whatever LS you want to install later should you change your mind.
Personally, I'm not a tire smokin hp head so a 4.8 would be lots. Fuel injected so easier on gas and better starting/running at any altitude. How is that wrong? Keep hoarding till the wife stops buying shoes. |

I have a friend who has a 4.8 in a square body and it moves the truck great. Steve

Re: Project "Schrum" 1959 Gmc 100
The LS engine is finally in the 59. Soon to be getting a transmission and some other things to be able to drive it soon
I painted the engine myself. I put the coil packs, intake and water pump on Debating on going with a drop down battery box on the frame to get it off the firewall and make this truck the nicest truck on the road Making great but is progress

Saw it this morning. Can’t believe I missed it
I’ve decided to do a stage 2 cam setup to get a good sound and a fresh top end to the Ls 4.8 engine. Also as I said in the previous post I am going to put air conditioning in the truck eventually but am going to buy it so I’ll have it Going with a classic update wiring harness too!!! So eager to get all of these new parts and have them installed Will update as they come in
