Ya I haven't decided which direction I'm going on the rims yet. I do like the rally rim look. I'm thinking I might go 17" rims not sure if rally's come that big...or what it'd look like. Still kicking it around.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
There is a place that makes custom size rally tims In whatever size you want. I wish I could remember the name. Even a 80s style 15 inch tall would look nice if you can get some. I went with a classic wagon wheel on mine from keystone. I've just always loked that look.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
Carpets came in finally. I know it`s not rocket science to install them, but here`s a few tips I've learned over the years to make an easy install.
I lay the carpet in and let it sit for a day so it can flatten out, then locate all the places that need holes and push nails in their location. If you get one wrong, it`s easy to move without damaging the carpet. Once all the nails are in their location, I put the holes in using a soldering iron. Not only does this give you a nice round hole, but it also prevents any loose fibers which may get caught in the bolt threads when putting the seats in. I`m sure we have all done this where one thread gets wrapped around the bolt and tears a line about 6 inches long into the new carpet. |

I have used the nail idea too, it works great. I heat up a 7\16-1\2" socket with a propane torch and make the holes with the socket over the nail head. Perfect holes in the perfect place.

Blasted and primed the undercarriage.... I was trying to get a guy that does the mobile dustless blasting come out and strip the body and frame but he flaked on me. Instead I went out and got one of the small pressure pots from HF and started at it myself... Still would've rather him come out to do it but can't wait around doing nothing.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?
The HF pressure pot blaster worked surprisingly well, it takes some getting used to but once you figure out how to get the valves set to get a good flow it does a decent job... I didn't have any issues with it getting clogged up, happened once at the tip but that was due to a piece of trash that made it past my sceen when I recycled the media.
I tried to get the 110lb unit but they didn't have it in stock so I just got the 40 lb one. I'm not sure why they decided to call it 40lb as it holds a 50lb bag of "sand" just fine. The smaller size wasn't that bad a compromise... Blasting kinda sucks so an extra break now and then to fill up was welcomed. I only used 2 50lb bags of black diamond coal slag I got from northern tool and recycled it through 3 or 4 times. I also got 2 bags of crushed glass media to try on the inside of the tub to see what works best. |

Parts look great. Can you post a link to the one you picked up? I could really use one.
