My neighbor who once owned the local Gulf station, "Gene's Gulf", passed away recently and got his last ride (to the cemetery) on his rollback. The procession included a unit from every towing company within a 50 mile radius. He was a character but very well respected.

A couple of old pics from back in the day, which they had on the wall in their garage for years. I asked him once about the "Ladies Day, 3 cents off" sign that's on the lower left of the 1970's station pic. All he said was, "Awww, they ate that s#@t up!"

Whoever set that up, planned his memorial, did a GREAT job. Something poignant, cool, and particularly sad about seeing his coffin on the rollback. That procession really makes the point though - looks like he was a character, obviously well known and liked.

That's neat to see he was honored in that way. We had "Bucky", owner of A&D Towing and A&D Used Auto Parts, just up the road from me. He and his wife ran the wreckers until they passed a few years ago. Alan and Dana, the son and daughter, ran the junk yard. Bucky built all the wreckers and rollbacks and they were all painted up with speedway style lettering. He also ran dirt track, which is where the truck decor came from. a great guy, hard working and fair. It's sad that he is gone

Yes it’s the flash rust that happened on the 275 gallon oil tank I converted to a burn barrel after the first burn . Now I’m making it into an outdoor fireplace after this burn I put it upright on its legs and cut a hole for the chimney .

That's cool to have. In the '90s I bought a helicopter shot of my place from an aerial photo service out of Washington State. I guess they're not selling a lot of pictures any more

I gave my dually a Heartbeat of America license plate for Xmas.

I don't know why the drivers side high beam is so cockeyed. Something else to fix.

Well, that doesn't look like fun. I had something similar when I buried the plastic drain tile from my house to the road ditch. I just shoveled in enough dirt to hold it down in a few places. It rained pretty good that night and it floated it all to the top. I had to pull it all out and clean out the ditch by hand. That was a lot of work.

I bet you have some washed in dirt to get back out too.....
