Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Hauled it's biggest load since I've owned it today, 3 diesel exhaust filters, and about 300lbs of food plot seed. Yesterday I got the "updated" cluster in, need to take a picture and post it up

Thanks! I'm beyond psyched to get this done. I'm going to run the 18/20" TT2's that were on my previous truck for the time being, and save up for something in a 20/22" combo. Thought about steelies because I like that look, including the Delmo-fied version, but even though many people have Torque Thrusts on all kinds of vehicles, they still look good and they're right there looking at me.

Nice, the torque thrusts will look awesome on there. One of my favorite wheels ever. Do you plan on tubbing the bedsides.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Bedsides are definitely getting tubbed. I did the rear 54" outside to outside after speaking to RustSpot about what he did to his. The rears are 20x10 with 5.25" bs and a 295/40 tire so they were NOT going to fit and lay frame or pinch.

I'm hoping the fronts will be okay because they're 18/8 w 4.5" bs and everyone bagged seems to do 5-5.5". I like the look of the wheels pulled in as well as for clearance.

What are you going to run if you're selling the Coy's?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I'm running a spacer to mimic a 4" bs on the rear since that is what the future 22's will be.

Very nice, I'm undecided about wheels. I'm only thinking of selling them because I haven't decided if I want to tub the bedsides or not. Mine are 20x10 5.5" BS with the early narrow rear on 295/40/20's. If they sell I'll probably end up going with 20x8.5's all the way around but something of the billet variety.

Cool. You're gonna go with the mild notch like Stella Mae, right?
Hey, I'm in S.I., btw. Not that far away.

Yeah it has a mild notch for now but eventually one day will have a mild rear dropmember in it. I know SI pretty well as my wife and her family is from there

I tried to lube the U-joints, couldn't get grease into any of them. Also noticed the driveline is assembled about 4 splines out of phase.

This is a simple one but , there's a FIRE WARNING ! .

Take a plumber's propane torch under the truck and use it to gently heat up the Zerks as this will soften the old rock hard grease , then whilst they're still hot , insert the grease until you see fresh grease mushing out the caps .

This works well on old suspension fittings too but , care must be taken as once the old grease catches fire , it's hell to put out .

Part of the reason I always keep the chassis clean of old accumulated grease....

What I did to my truck was : walk out and turn the key , of course the 250 L6 roared into life and I drove off , it'll be worked to - day , maybe take the fuel tank out in the late afternoon .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Took my truck out for the first drive in three years yesterday. Drove ten miles or so and the rear end locked up like fortknox. Today a rean to every scrap yard arround to find a hd rear end and came up with nothing. The joys of what we do.

Hahahaha!!!!

I was going to take the day off. But at about 8:00 my son-in-law called and asked if I could move the truck so someone could get into the
next bay where some sheet rock he was selling was resting.

I rushed over to the shop and he helped me get three-years worth of tools, extra parts, cleaning crap, greasing crap, painting crap, etc.,
into the back of the bed of the truck and into the trunk of my car.

So, her maiden voyage to a new resting spot at home!!!! About 1/2 a flawless and loud mile (open pipes until the frigging tags come
and I can get to the exhaust man...). So, the rest of the stuff, including more de-bugging, happens on home turf.

Boy, does that primer look like crap in the sun.

I dunno. The one you're looking at there is hacked over from snagging on the truck cover.
Two allen screws pinch 'em to the window frame.

An only marginally okay application.

As for the primer: Those previous shots show it in the dark. In the sun...Very RAT...In a non-good RAT way.
