My brothers 24 valve Cummins doesn't hold a candle to either my or my brothers 7.3s in proven towing capability. Plus anytime it gets in really heavy offroading while the 7.3 runs cool as a cucumber (side by side) the 24 valve (even when it was brand new) starts getting hot. Granted this could be a Dodge problem instead of Cummins. I am only stating from my experiences with both of them. I also have a 12 valve in a truck, already blew it up once. Yes it is way more difficult to retrofit into a different vehicle but nothing worth doing is ever easy. And the cool factor of that V8 in there would be bigger IMHO. Also the Powerstroke would not make as good of mileage. But it WILL NOT wear out sooner than the Cummins. Ok back on subject. 67cheby I apologize that this corrupted your thread. Trucks looks great and keep rocking on it.
I'm glad I didn't see this part til now. I won't rejack the thread, but man is that full of a lot of opinion.

you could take the altenator apart and paint the part holding the field coils , looks more factory that way

the manifolds could be jetcoated when the chome starts to peel in a couple of years
