Not a darn thing done on the truck today, busy in Matera, Italy working on another classic piece of iron..... it is a 72 however.... good patina as well! Lower roller shafts are worn so it's got a drop kit I guess you would say...

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Thank you sir. I'm pleased with how it's looking so far. I just need a rubber floor mat. I have the tilt and steering wheel + the dash pad to install yet but that maybe awhile until I can get the tilt rebuilt.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Oil change, coolant flush. Replaced my temp sending unit to no avail. .. oh and then grounded the 12 volt peg of my temperature gauge.... Now when I ground the temp wire it wont peg out to hot... Did I fry her? Did I just burn out the ceramic resistor? Blow a fuse that I don't know about? I've been through the manual and these threads a little. Anyone have any thoughts as to the damage I did? Know of any other threads discussing this business? Btw, first time posting! This forum is great and I am very thankful!

Changed the tranny fluid, rear gear fluid, repacked the front bearing, checked all the brakes then a good cleaning for both Holdie and Samson. Been a great day.

I'm a stepside man but I got to tell you that white fleet just looks absolutely classy. Solid white and all trimmed out is hard to top.

Changed exhaust manifold "donuts" in my 69 k/10 and took a test run to the beach--good place to clear my mind what ever is left of it! Lots of water out there-3,700 miles or so to Europe.

Halfway done under the dash, new wiper motor, Man that was a PITA. I was not made to bend that way. New bolts for the heater fan switch assembly and put in a Never Pop control upgrade for it.
Will post a pic soon! Its nice to have wipers again |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Replaced radiator. Had to drill the spot welds on the saddles and emove them thus only using the actual bracket and rubber to hold the new rad in. It was too big. Guess ill order some 4 core saddles. Also installed new heater core. That was fun. The rubber stuff that seals it up held it there REALLY well. Thought I might break the case trying to pry it off the firewall. That was yesterday. Today will be filling with coolant and checking for leaks and hoping I finally have heat and a sealed cooling system!

I let mine stretch its legs by driving it to work. I'm just waiting for the weekend to continue tearing down the bed I bought last weekend.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Minor improvement.
I got tired of looking at my grungy looking alternator, so I pulled it out, and cleaned it up. Gave it a light coat of bright silver, along with repainting the pulley and fan blak. Didn't take long or cost much, and looks 100% better than before. Sorry, no pic. It was dark when I finished |
