Love the car and the color. Interested to see what hubcaps you decide to run with.

Pulled this 502 out af a totaled truck with a friend . He’s going to put it in his 70 GMC engine has 2500 miles on it and we heard it run before pulling it . And he stole it for $1500 guy needed it gone as he was getting into it with the local code enforcement officer he had the truck in his driveway .

Wow, that's a great deal. That motor will make the truck haul.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

On a darker 61, I am a huge fan of chrome reverse wheels. On white ones, I would match the interior color. But on yours, the paint matched wheels are just fine.

We thought of chrome reverse as we have a set on our 56 Chevy, but with the disc brakes added and drop spindles its pushed the wheels out far enough that you can run a truly "deep" front wheel. Would have to go back to all drum brakes and dont really want to do that. Luckily had on the shelf the front wheels as they are 14" of a early 70s Chevy to fit disc brakes. I have a couple different dog dish caps or a set of "crossbar" 4 bar caps just like the ones in the old photos of my grandpa's original 61 he bought new.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I woke up, had breakfast, took my meds, and spent the last 3 hours on the phone with Drs offices and pharmacies. Being a recent retiree (forced medical retirement), I can now believe the stories I’ve heard about not working but having no spare time to tinker.

The stories are true. I pulled the plug 16 years ago and it seems like most of our primary activities now involve doctors. Spent today going to see my rheumatologist (about 7 hours driving time round trip).

Urologist tomorrow, at least that's only 2 hours. Wife has physical therapy on Friday. Never a dull moment.

I am taking notes.

If I do Retire I will not tell my Wife.

I will get up early and drive to my other shop and hang out till Quitting time.

I will probably work more Overtime when this happens.

Hey, I've got both doors and fenders in primer and needing final blocking. You're welcome to come down and help anytime...

Getter-Done, you have life and the wife figured out. I just hope I can say that when I retire. Maybe you ought to write that book after all so I can learn it before I get there.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Finished up a couple of 72 bedsides for a fellow. I cut them down to short ones for him. He has done a nice job on the rest of it and his bed was way too far gone. But since you cannot find short beds, you do what you got to do.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I love 32s as well. A good friend of mine has built several sedans. He has one about 80% complete now. He offered me a 4 dr sedan for 13,500 in very nice shape. I didnt think I could live with more doors. I should have bought it.
Yours will turn out nice, I'm sure.
